zangarmarsh because i was trippin balls the first time i went there.
My favourite zone is Nagrand. In Tbc expansion when I discovered it I breathed a sigh of relief! Other areas were suffering while Nagrand was relaxing with its green grasslands, pacific fauna, great friendly Elementals ( Throne of Elements ) and its history is cool! The great population of Mag'Har Orcs, the past of Good Orcs like Thrall. Trying to omit the areas infested by demons and the Kabbalists! :D
Quest-wise, I like Booty Bay and Stranglethorn Vale. You can always be certain to catch me there when leveling an alt. Never a boring place you can be sure. But when I want to leave the troubles of Azeroth behind, there's no better spot than ol' Loch Modan.
My favorite zone would have to be Blade's Edge Mountains, the spiky rocks with dead dragons on them always looked awesome, and i got to see Rexxar who was one of my favorites in warcraft 3.
The greatest and most epic of zones in the entire warcraft universe starts with Thrall, leading you into the Deepholm. Deepholm has been my favorite zone since playing World of Warcraft back in 2004. Ungoro would have been my favorite if there was no cataclysm, but since then, the releasing of Deathwing, and his complete devastation to Azeroth, it's lead to possibly the greatest and most epic of quest chains and world saving events. Without Deepholm, no one could save Azeroth by themselves.
My favourite zone would have to be the Undead Starting Zone, also known as Tirisfal Glades. My very first character was an Undead Mage, and I absolutely loved it. Of course, I stopped playing after a while, and my poor Mage was left to collect dust, but I very much so enjoyed the questing there. I am happy to see that it has been updated as well, as it did feel somewhat bleak; now it has more character to it. It's just very nostalgic, I find it.
I would have to say Tanaris if only for the fact that at it's southern-most point lies "Land's End Beach" which really speaks to me what World of Warcraft is all about in a way that no other sub-zone/zone has. After all of your turmoils, all of your trials and triumphs, after you have slain the greatest threats Azeroth has ever known, after you have loved and lost all those closest to you; your feet found their way here, to this lonely beach, at the end of the world. The simplistic euphoria envelops you as you stand at the water's edge and let your heavy armor fall to the ground. You care not for your state of exposure as you are only sharing this beach with yourself. The weight of your worries and responsibilities lifts, if only for a moment, as you dive head first, laughing, into the crystal clear liquid transcendence nestled below.
Grizzly Hills. The ambiance, the music, the asthetics. The zone is awesome! It feels like a real boreal forest... I'd love to live there irl.
I really like Nagrand a lot. :-)It's some kind of sanctuary in the whole chaos that is Outland.
Shadowglen in Teldrassil, its where my first wow toon was started and sometimes put me into think about the last 5 years of gameplay...
My favorite zone is ICC. I loved the artwork and the flow was pretty close to perfect. Spent many long nights raiding up to LK!
