Uldum, just for the sake of the Harrison Jones Quest-line, made me go back and watch all the Indiana Jones movies...and you get to kill gnomes with a fireball what could be better then that! ...ah good times
Uldum for Indiana Jones cutscenes and Gnome bowling
I think Nagrand was the most eye-appealing zone in the world. It's floating waterfalls were awesome!
My favorite zone is Ashenvale, because the ambient and the music is really good and very interesting.
I would say the starting zones of TBC, just for the music, or Uldum for the quest lines.
My favorite zone is actually Vashj'ir. While I agree the combat can get kind of annoying the zone just has a much different feel than any other, and is really well designed.
Silverpine's extremely lore filled zone, along with the twist and turns of the story, was a brilliant upgrade from the original. I love Silverpine.
For it's sheer beauty and grandieur I would have to choose Vashj'ir as my favourite zone.I had the defining moment of the expansion coming out of the Grotto into the Shimmering Expanse. Flying out of the tunnel pursuing a host of naga in full retreat I popped out of the cave mouth only to stop dead in my tracks and take in the magnificence before me. The rich palette of colours had me awestruck and I couldn't help but have my attention drawn to the absolutely leviathine crustacean hanging over the edge of a crevasse. I've yet to enjoy questing in a zone as much as the time I spent in Vashj'ir.
I personally enjoy Stranglethorn Vale not due to any one aspect but everything combined, first off it is a PvP'ers dream come true, a contested zone that acts as a major docking bay holds 2 long grinding factions (steamwheedle and the pirates), and hold the Arena event, all this together adds up to players coming in from every level range. The way the area is set up just makes it easy to go "hunting" for players while at the same time making it very easy for you to become the hunted if your not careful especially half an hour before the arena event begins to half an hour after it ends. The environment also adds a higher level of detail and tactics, such as hiding your character behind shrubbery using a /sleep emote and hoping the other guy won't see you to going on top of a mountain range waiting a bit and "sniping" another player a few times before he even know what happened or where it came from. The quests in Stranglethorn vale also add more to the zone and help convey the general theme and feel of the zone. The most obvious of these involving Hemet Nesingwary, I mean those quests are classics talk to almost any player about them and they'll know what your talking about. There's also useful quests and things to do there even at higher levels which are enjoyable such as pearl diving and farming Jungle Remedies before they became obsolete both of which brought in more higher level players to the zone which brings me back to the player hunting point.
My favorite zone has and always been Stranglethorn. Just how breathtaking it was when I first started the game back in 2004 and trudging through Elywnn Forest, Westfall, and then Duskwood. When I came up on Stranglethorn I started whispering all my friends in a frenzy telling them I was in a "freaking jungle" I explored everything. When BC came out I was pretty excited about Nagrand too, I loved the new tree models and such, but just that first time entering Stranglethorn takes the cake and makes it my favorite zone.
My favorite area has to be The Thousand Needles I loved just going there watching the cars at the race way just blow up. Or go around mining. Now that cataclysm is out i still have fun. I go around under water with my high tech 20% chance of not exploding goblin dive suit and continue to mine
My favorite zone is Uldum because I am really interested in ancient Egypt and I love the whole story line there.
