Just a quick thought since I couldn ´t find any info about it. Were these tests made in simcraft 4.06 or 4.1? Or maybe it doesnt`t matter?

title - "Assessing all the options
" ^_^
Yeah this was all done with 4.1 mechanics. when new SC versions come out I'll run a few sample tests to see if there've been any significant changes and redo things as SC gets refined/updated.

Hmm, I'm totally certain I added it to the sticky list, but it did indeed seem to vanish. Odd. Regardless, it's there now! :P

Hehe, many thanks Gnu-meister.

Fantastic resourse Asakawa. The numbers relating to Demo using LoP glyph and Succy, vs the Felguard are just mind blowing.
On a side note... Does anyone know if the Doomguard/Infernal can crit?
Annnnd.... Is it worth the raid utility to drop the hit enchant off me boots in favor of the one that has mastery and run speed increase?

Guardian pets do crit, yes. When you summon one a snapshot is taken of your stats and they are transferred to your pet.
As such,
Regarding boot enchants, this thread aims to tell you what something is worth and let you decide. The value of the Hit Rating can be taken straight off your stat weights but the run speed can't be simmed. You'll have to decide for yourself if it is worth it. Personally I've never been a bit proponent of run speed as a mandatory thing.

I've been working on an interesting idea and added it to the
Other Options
section for Demonology.
I wanted to find out how much you stand to lose as Demo by completely removing
Shadow Bolt
from the rotation.
With
providing the same benefits to
Incinerate
as
Shadow Bolt
, one wonders if the difference is great enough to out weight the greater simplicity of an Incinerate rotation.
Well the difference is definitely there but the important thing is that
's value is greatly diminished when SB is no longer being used which allows you to regain some of the loss by speccing into
(which was a very small increase over 1/3 in Corruption and
)
It worked out to a 1.659% loss to use Incinerate as filler.

Added races for each spec.
This really takes time so professions will have to wait until next time I have a chunk of time free for this project.

I'm glad Wowhead lock forums have you, asakawa. Thank you.
Very nice job with this.

Thanks ^_^
btw, I wanted to point out that all the race sims are done using any non-passive skills the races may have (blood fury, berserking etc.) whenever they're available
except
a Goblin's rocket barrage which isn't supported by SimCraft right now (as far as I'm able to tell).
I'll update when I can but be aware that it's likely to be a wee bit (certainly <100dps) short of its actual potential.

Thanks for the update.
I always adviced my guild members to pick the +81 SP enchant for staffs because i had the gut feeling it was better than hurricane (pre power torrent availlability). Would not have thought +63 SP already beats it. And yes, orc locks are the best :p
EDIT: We need a regular backup copy of this thread in case asa throws another tantrum and deletes it ;o)

That is cool. It's the kind of thing that I really need to include but I couldn't think of an absolutely fair test without retesting all specs with two separate gear sets (to get full unenchanted and with various enchants data)
I suppose it's just me being lazy and shirking the extra work so I'll put it on the list and man up and get it done properly at some point but many thanks for the input!

2.5% is quite a lot but that's for Demo (though the other specs also have relatively higher values for Orcs). You'd expect for the race that buffs pet damage to have a high value for a pet class and specifically for a pet spec.
That said, the fact that Orcs also have a spellpower buff really makes it quite an issue and putting the races into a table like that really shows that Alliance don't get much racial love for Warlocks ^_^
Those particular stat weights are taken from EJ's BiS profiles and as always when using specific profiles to get a general sense of stat values, anomalies occur. The very harsh haste plateaus we saw in early cataclysm are mostly gone but there are still many softer plateaus at which haste gains little per point.
To gain accurate stat weights you should always sim your own guy and also run Plots on SimCraft for stats like haste to see what happens to the values if you increase or decrease them.
added: professions!
phew!
-also, I ran out of characters in the first post so I've had to juggle things around a bit to fit it all in. I can't really afford the extravagance but this might push me back into premium again ^_^

1. Yup that is choosing the optimal choices for comparison.
The third glyph is GoIncinerate or GoCorruption. Corruption sims a few DPS higher but it's well within the margin for error so don't let that colour your decision.
2. Well, the ilvl346 default profile I created has mastery > haste for a cookie-cutter demo spec but a sim of my own character puts haste > mastery (my gear is much closer to the 359 profile, the weights for which are given below the 346 ones).
As always, if you want accurate data pertaining to your own character you really need to Sim your own character. Some of the finer details in
Acabar's sticky thread
are a tad out-of-date now but most is still applicable and will get you on the right track.
a side note regarding (2), this was a big reason for my being reticent to publicise the characters I play until recently (when I decided to stop worrying about it so much ^_^). I will always give the very best advice I can on a forum like this but I might not always take the very best advice myself. Also, as you go down the list of characters I play, my ignorance grows and my level of optimisation decreases.
I don't necessarily mind talking about choices I made and why but generally people should do as I say but not necessarily as I do ^_^
