Do the main posts in this thread use scrollbars too?
Yes, but I'm at work, where I use a rather small laptop (compared to the 17" one I have at home).
Your post above the one I mentionned this no longer has them now though.
Meh, no worries. I shouldn't be checking Wowhead at work anyways ^_^

Ah that's very nice of you to say. Thanks.

You always do great work:)
note: not that I think it needs it. but you asked!
as for more content...you could do best "DPS" food/potion buffs

Good idea! I'll add that next.
I suppose the other useful thing would be the different enchant options. Like, how much better is power torrent over hurricane really? etc.

@ganimede, I agree about most enchants. Those decisions are why we have stat weights. I've just done the weapon enchants and it was a bit of a surprise to be honest so I think that was a worthwhile addition.
...I wonder now, though, if consumables fall under that 'just use the stat weights' umbrella. Most are simple stat additions.
@Witham, Yeah, that's something that's been bugging me too and I wish I'd started it all off organised in that way.
I'll definitely get that sorted before long.
DONE ^_^ (wasn't much work at all)

Glyph of Corruption's table is next to Glyph of Haunt's. Not sure if this is intentional, just seemed a little out of place to me.
Thanks!
I messed something up when doing an edit and didn't notice.

This might be a stupid question (dont play much PvE) but would it be possible to simulate the average health gain (and loss form damage and life tap) for drain affliction and SB affliction? (given a made up combat situation with some damage taken...this might be too difficult and situational?)
When we try to maximise raid DPS vs individual DPS would it not be helpful to consider the healing needed as this seems to be quite a difference between the specs (more selfheal and less life taps for drain)?

SimulationCraft currently doesn't model healing. You
can
put a whole raid together in SimCraft and monitor buff interactions and the like but it's still focussed on the damage done to the boss.
The damage model is already a contrivance that assumes a stand-still fight (which is incredibly rare) and the way SimCraft attempts to model the complexities of real boss fights (helter skelter mode) just invents times when you can't DPS to see how different classes and specs handle ramp ups.
Healing in raids is inextricably tied to the mechanics of the fight and so these contrivances make a healing model much less useful.
Basically, it could quite easily (though I don't
think
it currently does) show that Affliction Drain specs have some constant self healing and that Demo constantly heals their pet but that's not terribly useful information.

Thanks. I picked up the drain spec anyway (since it is closer to my main PvP spec) but i feel that i require substantially less healing in most raid situations than with my (pre-patch) SB spec and thus drain might be more helpful for raids even if SB might be slightly higher dps (due to lag).
This is just my personal opinion and not an advice.

hehe ^_^
Drain spec for self-healing is a funny one. It will likely be a useful thing if you often have fights end when your healers run out of mana and the tank eventually falls over. If that's a common reason for wipes then anything to lower the healers' mana consumption is a good thing.
However Drain's (and siphon's)
effective
healing is always incredibly low, it all goes into overheal and isn't necessarily there for those short bursts when you really need a heal.
A fight where it should be really good is Chimearon. You only need to get over 10k for most of it and then the whole feud phase all healing is good. Trouble is if you get Slimed the healer is throwing a heal on you no matter what you do so your self healing is still overheal. Then during feud you get the 70% hit chance debuff that makes draining almost impossible.
However there's also occasions like P2 Nefarian where it is truly useful.
It still boils down to 'play what you enjoy most and what gives the best results' but since Drain is entirely competitive (or ahead) then it's certainly a plus point in its favour.

Amazing topic!
What makes me sad is seeing how Bane of Agony turned to crap in this expansion, I really liked its glyph. Well, at least I'll be able to re-apply UA faster.

It's not that BoA turned bad, it's just that the recent patch fixed some oddities that were holding Doom back.

I see. But I think that BoA would be still useful on normal pulls right? Due to not removing it with Soul Swap and being able to place another one on another mob.

As always, you never cease to impress me. Well done!
I love how everything is line by line, making it very easy to keep updated per future tweaks.
2 things I'd like to see, more of a request, Considering I know EJ's test everything, and this is a great starting point for therorycrafters.
A final tally testing with all of the highest parsing options showing if/any synergy, and making it easy to subtract from the potential ceiling.
Different breakdowns of potential DPS shown for the execute phase specifically of Afflic, AfflicDL, and Demo.
Nit picking I know, however great work deserves to be praised.
