ofc compared to the situation in which he need to heal through
well you
never
stated it in this reference, this is much more concise and you should have wrote it like this to begin with
and no, it's not clear that you're comparing to the situation without you stating it as being so
what you have said in your earlier post is similar to saying
tankadins have high HP and therefore suited for tanking
which, clearly is not the reason you would take a paladin for tanking as they have the lowest HP of the tanks
in other words, as i have previously stated
there was no point of stating that
and
therefore misleading
this is the reason you do not state it with a
relative word such as
strong
Obviously in this situation his healing capability is "more than strong" because the need for healing is very limited. When I said strong I thought it was well explained "between the lines"
it is YOU who concluded that strong = better!
there is a
huge
difference in
strong
and
strong
enough
strong is, again, a relative term, comparing and increasing the value of the referred item
strong enough, means it's good enough, decent, whatever
so yes, i uphold my reasoning for my conclusion

the pally healer, driud/warrior tank, Spriest, mage, and hunter/lock isnt bad.
I would say pally healer, warrior tank, Spriest, mage, lock so it would be a caster group.
I like classes the compliment eachother.
For a melee group I would say
Pally tank, fury warrior, rogue, hunter, shaman healer. The tank can AoE to hold aggro and can hold aggro easy putting salv on everone else. Buffs in the group affect everyone, hunters are awesome at cc, and a rogue and warrior are always good at doing damage. Intercept and kidney punch are some things they can do to stop a mob from killing the healer or to interrupt a spell.
It is hard to compare these 2 groups since they both have good and bad but I think both of them could clear all heroics.

Prot Warrior
Shadow Priest
Elemental Shaman
Mage
Holy Pally
Strong tanking, strong healing, good dps with caster buffs from the shaman. Also secondary healing from the ele shmn.

Blademeld, in my experiance of heroics, ive found that when i have a melee class in the group, they are always taking a percentage of damage, either from aoe's or, because they steal aggro from the tank for a couple of seconds. I know your gonna say, the tank must be shocking if a dps class steals aggro, but it does happen. I just prefer having ranged classes, as you can see when they take aggro, as the mob runs towards them, and in doing so you can take steps to stop the mob getting there. I usually intervene with my hammer of justice, so the tank can then get aggro back. This means that the ranged dps doesnt take any damage, unless its a ranged mob. This is just my point of view, so its not set in stone.

what's so bad about shaman healers
it's all about who's behind the shaman, not the shaman class itself
a good shaman will use rank 1 HW (which is a 1 or 0.5 sec cast, i forget) to get 3 stacks of healing wave before the pull to make his job easier. saves himself a lot of mana.
i've had resto shamans heal me just fine through entire heroics (i'm a feral druid)
and his totems are always welcome, a pally can't give you more than 1 blessing, but a shaman can give you strength of earth, grace of air, and healing stream at the same time.
the ideal group for a heroic in my opinion is...
1 tank (Prot warrior, feral druid, or prot pally, does not matter)
1 mage (food/water, and the best humanoid CC in the game)
1 hunter (if it can't be trapped, it probably can't be CC'd)
1 warlock (you have a fear, you have a CC for demons and elems, and you have a seduce, which might be the most horrible humanoid CC, but it can still prevent wipes, not to mention blood pact)
1 healer (Holy pally, holy priest, or resto shaman) resto druids have the hardest time with their HoTs
I've done (and completed) heroics without a single CC before (feral druid, enh shaman, elem shaman, fury warrior, holy pally, for example) and our usual tactic would be to burn everything down 1 at a time.
like i said before, it's all about whos behind the classes in your group, not the classes themselves. good players that play a class without a CC (i.e. elem/enh shamans, feral druid going as dps, balance druids, etc.) will know when to spot heal and when to dps to ensure the tank's survival.

WOW.......i post my team for heroics and a hige argument comes over because i said shammys are good healers....you guys are pathetic its just a game.
if you've actually read it... it's not because of what you've said
the only thing in common is "shammy healers" between your post and the arguement
i bet you just skimmed through it, just so you could say the word "pathetic"
what's so bad about shaman healers
nothing, we were having a discussion based on the wording of a post, it just escalated into math of a heal
Dude, blademeld, stfu, your being a little whinny girl about all OTHER peoples preferances. Why dont you post your preferances, read the others, and if you dont like them
If you're complaining about my points of arguements, isn't that being contradictory to your statements and rather pointless? It seems you just want to take a bite out of me because you have had a bad day or something.
So i say again, stfu and grow up and stop trying to be right 100% of the time because no one is right 100% of the time, and from the looks of it, your not even right 50% of the time. A shammy can be a strong healer if spec'd and geared right, get over it.
It doesn't seem like you read through my posts at all because the conclusion of the 2 pages was that I was right, the other poster apologized for making an error and I apologized for overreacting.
In fact, my guild has about 2 of the best healers on my server and guess what, ONE IS A SHAMMY.
It really looks like you haven't read my posts because I repeated myself several times and said that shamans are good healers especially in raids.
The reason being is because not only does he have A STRONG HEAL
Dude, shut up, that was my point of the 2 pages of arguement, he doesn't have a "strong" heal by definition, and that was covered numerously over the thread. Either state what it's strong comparatively to or use the word "decent"
he's also durrable, granted hes no main tank, but like someone said above, the main tank loses agro every once and a while, especailly to healers.
That's a horrible point, holy paladins are much more durable, either use it in a combination of pro-pointers or don't use it at all
Geeze, grow up, this is the internet for god sakes. And dont try to respond with the "im right and your worng because..." because ill just keep laughing at you.
This is the internet, on a private forum, if you think that this is inappropriate and childish for me to express my views, correct other people and perform couple of number crunching and theorycrafting, don't stoop to my level and either get out or complain to an administrator and petition to delete my posts or something,
if you're so much more grown up than me, that's the correct approach to this issue.
I laugh at your spelling, and the fact that you don't understand english, guess what, I'm wrong at times and I admit that, but your 1 post is about a 100 times worse than my 100 posts.

Riiight...moving on...
Paladin tank
Fire mage
Fire mage
Shadow priest
Any healer - shaman is nice for Wrath of Air/Bloodlust, paladin/druid/priest are also fine as they have nice buffs too. As long as they can keep up with the healing needed on the paladin tank.
This is the setup we farmed with this weekend. About 90 badges and an enormous amount of shards and voids. Bosses where you can just stand still and nuke go down in about 30 seconds. Moving around means it takes about 1 minute.
Averages about 3000dps, non-stop pulling and quite fun too.
