And like I said, it's not your kill, not your loot, therefore not your skin. Do you go around handing herbers or miners nodes for them?
Level up skinning and come back to tell us you still feel the same way.
I have a maxxed skinner/lw'er, neither of those professions made me feel entitled to the fruits of other players solo labor. If I come upon a skinnable mob I didn't kill "hey cool free bonus" I come upon a mob someone didn't loot "nothing to see here, nothing to be upset over".
I'm fairly sure the OP is talkinga bout dungeons.

I think we are all talking mostly about in dungeons. When people don't loot in dungeons it makes it almost impossible to skin since you only have a 1/5 chance in the skinnable corpse being your loot.
It would be stupid to complain to someone who is around questing about not looting their mob. In a dungeon it is considered common courtesy to loot the mobs if there is a skinner in the group. Same with /rolling on herbs and mining nodes.

If you only have a 1/5 chance, because people aren't looting, it means that 4 people in the dungeon want to push through faster, and you're holding everyone up.
I would much rather a group that chainpulled their way through a dungeon than one that stopped to loot every single mob and waited for the skinner to waste 15 seconds going through and skinning the last beast-pull that we did while the rest of us sit around.

I don't exactly see why skinners feel entitled to the remnants... what do you do if there are more than two skinners?
Same effect, really.
When there are two skinners, usually they will take it in turns for pulls. After a pack is killed they will alternate. If not, then it's just a free for all for who skins what first. Usually, skinners are not picky. But it does bug the crap out of them when people don't loot mobs from a beast. It's a waste, similar to paying for a meal and only eating half of it.
A good skinner will put the run first, but they won't let an oppitunity to skin go by. However, leaving a big group of beast mobs is akin to someone blocking a miner from a rare node. The catch is, you can't accually prevent a miner or a herbilist from tapping a node. Where you can prevent a skinner from skinning just by not checking a corpse.
IMO, this is a case of someone making a mountian out of a molehill. If you can loot a skinable corpse, then do so. If your bags are full, leave it and explain if someone ask. Otherwise focus on the run.

I'd be curious to know how many epics folks that don't loot end up passing up.
This is what keeps me looting.
Thinking "Huh, maybe that Rampaging Quillboar had a blue item..." *tries to walk away without looting* "ARGH!" *runs back to loot 3 teeth and a piece of gristle*
When I'm on my skinner, I love free leather from people who don't also have skinning. However, I don't automatically assume that its mine for the taking, and I don't get my panties in a knot when people don't loot. I generally watch a person before skinning their kills, as I'd hate to find out they were just grabbing a couple mobs and waiting to skin them all at once.
As for dungeons and not looting: It does bother me, but for the most part I don't care. Anything that I can loot will sparkle, anything that I can roll on will sparkle, so its just them losing out on the stack of vendor grays and various odds and ends.
And I can skin quite fast on my skinners in a dungeon... I've never held a group back as far as I can remember. Places like Violet Hold were fantastic for this, as I'd skin 1 mob in the group before the portal opened, and repeat this until the little break times. Then I'd go back and grab the ones I missed earlier.
edit: If there is another skinner in the group (and I usually don't notice right away, as I'm fast on the skinning...), I'll stop skinning altogether and let them get the rest.

I don't get why it bothers you. If it wasn't your kill don't worry about it's loot.
Like I said, I'm a skinner. He doesn't loot, I can't skin. And, like I also said, I'm more curious by now, than worried/annoyed.
And like I said, it's not your kill, not your loot, therefore not your skin. Do you go around handing herbers or miners nodes for them?
LMAO ^^ this for the win. Although it is a di&k move it is still so so true.

Good thing not everyone's like this.

Just for fun, I created a Worgen Druid. With this alt, every time I come across a place littered by corpses of beasts left by questing players, I thought, "oh hey,
free loot!
That being said, I wouldn't get upset if people don't loot their kills, intentionally or otherwise - it's
not
mine. Any other issues are irrelevant.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with how fast Worgen skinning was... I took it on my Hunter, and Cheetah + skinning = drowning in leather.

I literally
do not understand
why people seem to think they have any right whatsoever to tell another person to loot.
We've figured out by now we're missing some cash; some of us don't care, we have limited time on the game as it is so we'd rather be killing bosses than making some cash we can make in 10 minutes on the AH.
Oh and I don't ususally do this, we don't all speak English and I'm aware of that, but I thought this was amazing;

I always loot when I'm solo (either questing or doing older dungeons)... when I'm in groups, I rarely loot unless we're standing around waiting for something and my mob is right next to my feet or something.
Why? For me -
1) I don't need money, so it's not a concern.
2) I figure -somebody- will be looting and catch the items we need to roll on (if not, I don't really care anyway).
3) Bag space. My bank is full of old gear that I want to keep, inscription supplies, jewelcrafting supplies, etc. etc.. completely full. Yes, I need to clean it out but I haven't. In my bags, I keep 3 sets of gear (holy, holy pvp, and prot), plus potions, flasks, food, etc. Yea, I usually have about 2 empty bags anyway but I'd rather not have to go find a vendor once I'm done with the dungeon.
4) I'm always a healer or a tank.. I don't dps. And so, I don't really have time to loot.
Those are my reasons.. but why it bothers anyone or why anyone is concerned about what I do with my loot is beyond me.

In general, I don't care if people loot or not... as I said previously, if its something I can loot or roll on, it will sparkle for me. Sure, I might be missing out on some bonus leather, but I can get over that loss pretty fast.
That being said: It only becomes an annoyance to me when I see someone asking how to make money / begging for money, either in game or on the forums, and when told to loot everything, they go "Why? I don't care about grey items and vendor trash!", or some such nonsense.

I don't skin in dungeons and if someone else is trying to skin instead of doing dps, I won't loot beast mobs.
Why?
Skin in your own time. I don't expect people to wait for me to skin my way through a dungeon, and I will not wait for you.
And that's why the world goes like it goes. Really, I'm sick of reading all the egoist and prepotent comments in this post. Are you really so egocentric that can't give some seconds to another person?
I would like to know some of you and slap you in the face.
Bring it.
