Blood in the Water ... pretty crap?

I mean Ferocious bite is utterly worthless, pathetic damage. So I don't use it 100-26%.
This means I'm always pooling combo points. Seem to have them to spare these days.
Thinking about dropping the 2 points here(for more survival) as I can just refresh rip with CP anyway, and not waste energy on a FB?
Only times I can see BitW/FB being good is any fights with REALLY high movement?
What's the take on this in the druid community? I'll never be a heroic raider on my kitty, so those encounters don't matter so much.

You're philosophy on FB is totally wrong in my opinion. FB is actually pretty decent damage, its just that Rip does more. Blood in the Water allows you to use BOTH with FB <25%. FB is a huge dps increase. Don't drop it.

My ferocious Bites (with 2/2 PA) hit for less than one shred....

You're doing it wrong then. My FBs hit for upwards of 50k, shreds around 30k.

Without going into the details of how good/bad Blood in the Water is, what else would you do with the talent points?
Pick up survivability talents to help out (make up for) over worked/under performing healers.
I was looking at this:
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#0ZrbGcRuMdbczMcu
6% reduced spell damage, 10% more armour and crit immune (mostly for 5 man threat and emergency tanking)
I actually think the time spent stacking FFF,(but hopefully covered by rogue or warrior) loss from Feral Aggression is biggest dps worry.

I'm not on Interrupt duty ever.
And it's not free damage. Rip is 30e, FB 35, So a manual refresh is 5e cheaper.
5e every (more if latency makes an unglyphed FB use more energy) 23 seconds or so.
Now that's energy to spent on a shred which will do more damage than a FB and-
Hmm I think I just figured out the best thing about BitW.
If the sub 25% rip is a TF+trinket proc buffed application, then it's THAT strength bleed that's gonna keep getting refreshed without having to worry about aligning TF with applying rip, and just blow TF every 27 seconds with nary a worry( Not dally for 0.5-1.5 secs). Also simplifies the rotation (yet more) to allow more raid awareness.
I may have just argued myself around.
Oh and as you may have picked up from me worrying about survivability talents, my tanks are @#$%, and I get threat a lot. So Thick Hide armour, crit immune +SI is actually very nice on berserked trash. :P

This is rediculous. As has been said already Ferocious Bite deals more damage than Shred. With
Rend and Tear
it has a much higher crit chance. Also you should not be using the
Glyph
because the energy -> damage conversion is better damage/energy than Shred. On average your rotation should allow ~10 extra energy to be consumed by FB each time, so Shred costs 40 energy, FB costs 45. Shred, for me, hits for 16k damage average, while FB hits for 21k average. This is 400 dpe from Shred compared to 475 dpe from FB.
Finally I'm not saying that Blood in the Water is a huge dps increase, but it's definitly adding to your damage output. From my experience it's worth about 1k addition dps below 25%, overall this is only ~200 dps over the whole fight (the <25% phase usually lasts less long than the rest of the fight because of everyone's execute abilities kicking in) but on some fights this last phase is a burn phase where this additional dps is very much needed.

I like the way you come over all judgemental and insulting, to a
question
.
I never stated any fact or fabricated numbers, or saying MY way of doing things is superior.
I proposed a hypothetical to get some feed back. Granted I got the answers and reasonings from others and your correct self. But I got them in a such a way that you come across as an arrogant pompus ass.
You need to relax and stop making this game your all. Kitty is perhaps my my 6th or 7th played spec/class, and I've only been back playing wow 2 months at all. So my knowledge is very much lacking.
Hence me asking a
question
, your tone of answer made me lose respect for your informed knowledge.

You realize that you came here essentially saying "My right leg... I can walk without it right?" Then your second, the last sentence of your third and your entire 4th post was a continued argument against the usefulness of them for walking.
While Foley's response to you was actually typical Foley.
Starts with a response to to statement of yours with pure fact an correction to your thinking.
His second quote + response can be considered excessively rude if you don't realize that he is attempting to correct a common misconception of fault that most DPS have when it comes to threat. It's old news and tired to repeat.
He is blunt and direct, but if you can get a thick skin you'll see that he is teaching you to "Run" on those legs you did not care so much for... Plus he was hungover.

Once that thick skin has grown, you'll learn to love reading his posts like me. And go /popcorn.
But your posts were pretty full of fail though.
