Ghosts are psychic assassins with armour designed to make them invisible...Spartans are enhanced humans in power armour.
Yes, I wonder who would win; the one that can sneak up on the other, and make their brain explode or make them take off the helmet and blow their own brains out.

U.N.S.C. Marine as in Halo?
Edit: Adams, marines =/= Spartans. However, a Spartans, even without the armor, are so bloody observant that they could spot the Ghost, and run at about, what, 60 mph I believe, and break their neck.

Question: Is the Terran Ghost wearing a jetpack?

Only Reapers wear jetpacks.

And yet, the Zurg and Protoss apparently don't notice the Ghost eh? Again though; observant doesn't mean much when your opponent can reach into your skull and &*!@ with your mind; that is what a Ghost is after all.

Is that in the books? I don't recall anywhere in game of a Ghost head-asploding somebody without their sniper rifle.
Besides, the Zerg believe Quantity over Quality, so I highly doubt they can see through stealth.
The Terrans are the only ones who can. They are human, but have the technology to see through the stealth. A Spartan is a human. See where I'm going with this?

Different 'Verse though; just because Starcraft Humans can see them with tech, doesn't mean the Spartan Power Armour has that same tech. And that's the entire point of the Ghosts in the Starcraft Universe: They are psychic humans captured, experimented on, and turned into Assassins....why do you think the Kerrigan incident turned into the massive cluster%^&* it did? Had she been a normal Human instead of a Ghost, she probably wouldn't have evolved into the Queen of the Blades and taken over the Zerg. And the Zerg could pick up on psychic abilities, same as the Protoss, yet the Ghosts are still effective against both as well as being the premier human assassins.
Edit: Would have also been the premise of Starcraft Ghost had it not been scrapped.

Yes, but having psychic powers doesn't mean you can just randomly blow people's heads up. From what I've seen, their powers only let them move more stealthily/turn invisible.

Aye. However, the Spartan armor is equipped with a motion sensor, which are kind-of-really-hard to fool.
Different 'Verse though
Exactly. So why are we arguing this? Neither side can prove it. I'm more inclined to believe a Ghost is more stealthy, so they could sneak attack a Spartan, but if the Spartan got a whiff of the Ghost, the Ghost is dead.

I don't recall Ghosts every being discovered through psychic powers. Always technology.

I also forgot that ghosts can use their EMP on the Spartan's shield...
I still put the matchup in favor of the spartan
True, but the Ghost doesn't even have a shield, and are only equipped with Sniper Rifles.

I don't recall Ghosts every being discovered through psychic powers. Always technology.Starcraft 1 and expanded universe information; hate to do it again, but Kerrigan: The fact that she was psychic was why the Zerg hive was so intent on getting a hold of her, and the Protoss tried to kill her before the transformation was complete and they tracked her by the same psychic trace that drew the Zerg to her in the first place.

They also have psychic-enhanced melee weapons
Aye, but both are primarily ranged. Also, a Spartan may have a Covenant Plasma Sword or Gravity Hammer.

Kerrigan is also the most psychically powerful person there is atm.
/shrug Not arguing, comparing capabilities.
Exactly. I see it as a deadlock with a slight advantage to Spartans. You may see it differently, but tbh you probably can't sway me.

Kerrigan = walking psi emitter.
Also, if you watch the cut scene where Kerrigan is "killed" by the Zerg, she isn't invisisble.

Kerrigan is also the most psychically powerful person there is atm. Yes since her upgrade; but before that, she was merely one of a few dozen Ghost operatives out there in the Starcraft universe, murdering, killing, and using their abilities to change things for the government. It's a requirement of the Ghost to be a psychic; that's what makes them what they are heh, and that's what had them torn from their families and forced to become what they are.

And I don't think physical capabilities are really that much of an advantage against a psychic; sure if you can get a hold of them, you can snap them in half.....but then of course, comes the oldest trick in a psychic's book: Make your opponent see someone else as you(check Old Man Logan for the most brutal version of that ever).
