I'm a fan of the Trinity + 1: One Piece, Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail heh =P. But my anime DVD folder is full of a large variety of things: Serial Experiment Lain(still need to get Skree to watch that one), Trinity Blood, all of the Dragonball series, Inuyasha, the Robotech/Macross universe, Tenchi verse, a lot of the Studio Gonzo things, older animes such as Medabots Vision of Escaflowne and Monster Rancher heh, Ninja Scroll(movie and series), all of the Miyazaki movies, D and many many many more.

You ever see Blood+? That was a short but good one...
My origonal story that I'm working on is sort of a culmination of my anime obsession...

That thing was horribad, I agree....
How was the death note live action adaptation? I've heard bad things, but mostly from non-anime fans.

Haven't watched those; but they are suppose to be good if you like the series.

I saw the live action Dragonball movie finally, and was disappointed.
It started off good, but by the end it was just like "lolwut?"
My compliments to whoever picked the actress for Bulma though, lol

Only good thing for that was the fact that Spike was Piccolo Daimao; beyond that, meh....though some of the older live action ones fall under the 'So awful it's good'; sadly the recent one doesn't.

New novel in the works, and the process itself's actually going a lot smoother and much quicker (you could say the story flows better) than The Hunt (which was my first real novel-size story) Valuable experience, I guess?
How've you guys been in my brief (although you wouldn't really notice, I'm not here as much as I'd like) absence?
^^

and OZ, just wondering, how do you write your books? Just go ahead and type them out, wing it, outlines...? Just wondering since I haven't really started my second(first since the story's been overhauled to be completely different from the first draft anyway...) draft yet.
I don't really have a system for writing the story itself - usually I write massive amounts of outlines before I start writing, usually even try to imagine some of the main characters' relations, to have something to develop, before I start writing - but once I get started, I usually end up changing most of it, anyway.
What I do, instead - is make mental notes of ideas I come up with when I do not have access to a pencil and paper or my computer (you'd be surprised how many ideas come to me when swimming) and write them down as soon as I can. It's very useful to have a document with tens of dozens, which is what I usually end up with, ideas to build upon, develop, and trash.
I don't for a second think that my "system", or lack of it, would work for everyone, but that's how I do it.
Long story short; not a very orderly person.
Anyway - I suggest you try and try and try - eventually you'll come up with a way to put your ideas and outlines on paper the way that works best for you, and no one can
really
advise you on how to best write your own story/ies
=D

Heh, I know everyone's different, I just like knowing what successful people manage to do because it helps me in a way. :P
I'm the type of person who has pretty much everything already thought up in terms of characters/beginning/endings/setting... it's filling everything from start to finish that I have issues with.
Sorry about the slightly delayed response;
do you have trouble getting the story flowing, does it end up being too short in general (I had that problem for a while), or what are you have issues with specifically?
And generally, even for me, a good outline of beginning (point A) and ending(point B) is pretty beneficial - knowing where they journey between the two will start and end is likely to help you out.
Ever since I settled down, almost two decades ago now, people have spoken of the Fire Thief. The theft of the World Fire. Of the shady figure who stole the Avatars of the World Fire’s most precious spirit, and locked it away, hid it from the Fires’ sights forever.
My grandchildren, eager to hear stories of the “old days” as they are, have oftentimes asked me to tell the story of the bad man who took the White Sun from the Fires.
Bad man, huh?
Funny.
But I suppose that was only to be expected, what with my son marrying a Fire and all.
Some of those evenings, when the grandkids have been nice enough and I don’t feel the scars from my many battles hurt like they do some days, I tell them of the story of the Fire Thief; which I heard, more than two decades ago, from an innkeeper, who had heard the story from his aunt, who had heard it from her sister, who in her turn had eavesdropped the story when working as a maid in Mag Ma Castle.
Of course, the story is hopelessly distorted and, unlike most of the stories you will hear these days, it’s not exaggerated.
Quite the opposite, actually.
But I see no point in telling my grandkids that now. Some day, they will have matured enough to hear what really happened during the tumultuous time of the Theft – but I don’t think they’ll believe me. I am one of the few still alive who knows what happens, and it terrifies me that I might one day wake up and simply not remember.
That one day, what really happened may be lost in the mists of time.
For every day that passes, the story grows more distant, fades into the shadow of memory.
That is why I have decided to write it down, and I can only hope that my knowledge of the runic language is still up-to-date.
Every day, I feel my memories fading, and with them, my life.
I don’t really care.
I am satisfied with what I have accomplished during my lifetime – I am a Wind, they would have said, a Wind – proud and never bending.
I have, had, two beautiful children – although they can hardly be called children any more, even by me. I have three wonderful grandkids – that I would simultaneously like to strangle for their insolent and disrespectful behavior. Cute little buggers.
But my memories fade, and with them one of the greatest secrets of all.
I will tell this one last story before I go to sleep.
I don’t think I will wake up again.
Let me tell you my story.
I am the Fire Thief.
^My intro right there - just got this sudden urge to post it
:D
