I'm about to blow your minds.
Get ready.
A rather large percentage of the WoW population is terrible at playing their class.
That being said, these sort of posts are rather silly/pointless but if you must go on let's not have this turn into a flame war, k? I see that some users may want to review the
Forum FAQ
and get an idea of how things are run around here.

Intimidation=BM silencing shot. xD Resisted far less than Silencing Shot. Only thing that gets me is that is takes a second or two to take affect, so you have to be VERY fast with it and, not to mention, can steal aggro. eek!
As for tanks, well, as said above many times, but I just want to rub salt in the wound, it's easier to find a good hunter than it is a good tank. ON my mage, I can't seem to keep anything sheeped due to the tanks AoE, rogues can't seem to keep mobs sapped either. Teach your own class how to do things well first, THEN maybe you can move on to other classes. Granted, I have run into some pretty stupid hunters, I run into just as many stupid tanks.
I once had someone tell me "GL finding a tank, because dps is a dime a dozen". I replied, "GL finding a group that will keep you, bad tanks are a dime a dozen too"
Yeah, I disagree with this post. And as SainType says; Intimidation =/= Silencing Shot. SS (in PvE) is primarily used for stopping NPC heals and trapping/pulling casters. Intimidation is completely disabling the NPC for a few short (sometimes critical) seconds.
.
No one noticed the "xD" I placed in the reply. This typically means that the statement should be take lightly and not as seriously. On the other hand...
Reguardless, I use Intimidation the same exact way that someone uses silencing shot, When the caster begins casting, Intimidate, caster cannot finish the spell, and cannot cast, nor can they move, after. Same scenerio, except this time, SS is used...the only difference there? Oh yes, one the caster can move, the other he cannot. Both scenerios. the spell was stopped and the caster cannot cast again for a few seconds. Intimidation is actually more reliable, in most cases, than silencing shot too. I find that there are fewer mobs immune to Initmidation than SS. I can do this for PvP or PvE...not sure where the big difference is.
So, in conclusion, one silences the enemy, with a high liklihood of failing, the other silences with the enemy, with a high liklihood of success. Where is the problem ith using intimidate again?

That's the main reason I use intimidate, as a spell interrupt. Saves lives in BGs
and
PvE.
