1. Start by burning enough mana to benefit fully from a Mana Gem Charge.
2. Pop your cooldowns, including AP and Mana Gem
3. Spam AB till your mana is LESS than 40% (I go anywhere from 30-35%)
4. Pop Evocation
5. Try your best to hover around 90-100% mana. What rotation to use here will greatly depend on the fight and on your gear. Somewhere in the area of AB234AMABarr.
6. When you're Gem cooldown is almost up, prepare to repeat steps 2-5
....
7. Try to end the fight at or close to 0 mana. Do this by spamming AB even if your cooldowns are not up when the boss is almost dead.
There are more stuff and intricacies you can do to improve your arcane rotations, but this is probably good enough to start you off.

4. Pop Evocation
This is one of the most critical part about doing damage post the burn phase. Having an evocation interrupted is crippling to your mana. This is what makes arcane slightly more difficult to play well, the knowledge required (and sometimes luck) of the encounter to get a full evocation off is mandatory for high arcane damage.
On the topic of mana potions, they should be used aggressively on the burn phase. Just like how you'd use a mana gem regularly.

Thanks for the clarification. Fire is my main spec but i am currently in a position where i need to be arcane to get into raids.

Is Arcane Tactics really that game breaking? Because I'm pretty sure Fire is far superior in usefulness, especially if you already have experience with that spec for the way raid fights are currently working.
