Ok, I think this has too many line breaks.
+100 Int to Off-Hand made MH/OH too much the right choice for casters. It was also announced more than a week ahead of time.
60 Int isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, and you probably didn't actually need to respec. I don't think I've ever respecced my casters over weapons. My Warrior and Rogue, yes, but the talents that made that necessary have been removed.

My issue is not that they made the change, it is their game but the manner in which they make the change and that they offer no compensation to the players affected. I have no issue with fine tuning (5%), it needs to be done, however a 60% reduction (for example) just shows lack of product testing. What if your computer were suddenly updated by Microsoft to run 60% slower and you could change it back, would you accept that? Why is WoW different?
Just compensate the players who get nerfed, from any and all classes so that they can can at least feel Blizz recognizes that they did do something to disadvantage the payer whose item/class they just nerfed. More than likely the gold given would be spent within the hour re-gemming or whatever.
Okay, what class do you play and what were the staff and MH/OH in question that you
had
to regem? Again, my statement above holds true: The Off-Hand enchant made MH/OH too much the right choice. Would you rather have a staff with <x> enchant or a MH/OH that has roughly the same stats with <x> enchant + another 100 Int?
My Priest has over 4,000 Int. -60 Int is less than a 2% change.

We had the same BOE healing staff drop twice in one run a while back, and we ended up selling both of them because even though our healers had inferior gear, the +100 enchant on the offhand made it better for them to keep it. Then the off-hand nerf came, they weren't really surprised- it was out of balance to begin with.

I have to say I am likely to play WOW well into the future, however, I am also likely to see myself quitting if after
spending many hours getting my toon geared
to the best of my ability, Blizz goes ahead and nerfs it by anything significant like the example above a second time.
Ok buddy I am going to take your argument to it fulliest conclusion.
EVERYTHING YOU HAVE NOW WILL BE IN ESSENCE BE NERFED BY THE NEXT EXPANSION.
I strongly suggest you never play past any expansions. All the gear you are grinding you head off to get now will be vender trash two days after the next expansion.
Serisouly my peak of raiding was back in "vannila." When the Burning Crusade came out the greens I was getting from quests were replacing the purples that I spent hours and hours getting.
You going on a rant about an enchant changing on a peice of gear.. there will always be better gear.

Here we have the inevitable dark side of min-maxing.
Did you watch
Zero Punctuation
a couple weeks ago? It's all about the
numbers
.
Well, no, really, it's not.
It's a
game
.
Play.
Have
fun
. Stop worrying about that one or two percent you're losing. It's irrelevant in the end.
If you get this worked up about
numbers
, it's time for a break.

So.....you want Blizzard to kiss your bruised ego and make it better? Seriously, if you are going to complain about this, take it to the official forums; sure, taking 60 int off an off hand enchant can be a bit of hit....but no worse then nerfing entire classes/enchants/specs, unless you think Blizzard should pay you gold for any time you've had to respec because you follow other people's play style like a sheep.

Just like airlines have to offer you compensation when they cancel or over book your flight Blizz should compensate for wasting players time when it has to make significant changes to released items and gear.
The airline has to compensate due to not delivering what was contracted to be delivered.
I think most people would agree with the fact that Blizz should deliver what the toon is buying, not nerf it after the fact and tell you to go pound sand.
What you are paying for is the time availability to play the game. In everything Blizzard has put out "Game play may change(or some such)", therefore they are delivering what they contracted to, play time availability.

The int change from 100 to 40 is 60%. The issue is that when calculating whether to go with a 2H or MH/OH is made based on the stats AT THE TIME.
When Blizz changes things RETROACTIVELY that negatively impact players is when I think they need to offer in game compensation.
Are you raiding? If not, go get one of the staff's out of a heroic, issue dealt with. More then likely, they reduced the Int down to something manageable for the Off-Hands.

Alright, if you don't like the way Blizzard plays Pool; stop playing, stop paying them money, and go find something else to do. Of course, I'm guessing whenever you get an upgrade, and have to replace something you've already enchanted/put gems, you probably complain about that too eh? Guess Blizzard should just move all the current stuff to your new one to keep you happy.
But again, this was not a 'surprise' they did mention it in the patch notes.....so.....yeah...
Of course with this comment:
When it needs to happen (and it happens to frequently in my opinion) Blizz should offer in game compensation (Gold) to affected players to compensate/assist them for having to change items/talents or whatever. It is fairly obvious you just want all of your loots and thoughts handed to you, no effort on your side.

Again, you don't like Blizzard's customer service and how they treat you? Stop paying them 14 bucks a month; if you are dissatisfied with an airline or car service, you find a better one, and stop giving them your money.
Hell, you do realize if Blizzard wanted to, they could just shut down Warcraft, and say 'Thanks for the memories, but we're done' and none of us would get the money we spent on it during our entire playing careers back; no compensation for the Pet store purchases, Race/Faction changes and all the rest.
Seriously, grow up, and learn about the real world where things are not handed to you on a silver platter.
And for fun,
I'm linking ElhonnaDS
