You guys don't count kangaroos? I could've sworn....
No, those are the Kiwis (e.g. Cambo), and they count sheep.
I thought that Australians were just highly evolved kangaroos? Are you saying that it's all a lie?
Sad but true, unfortunately. Some of us are
dropbears
too.

No sheep icon? :(
Edit: Oh, it's not a sheep, it's a mouse. Never mind.

MyTie would be disappointed in me if I ascribed to stereotype.
Sheep are easy because they don't kick as hard as Kangaroo's.

Edit: It's funny - the Australians have the highest demographic concentration so far...
Yeah, what's up with that? It's like you guys are all neighbors.
About 33% of Australia's population (7+mil) is located in the state of New South Wales (where the three of us are), and a bit more than 20% of the population (~4.5mil) is located in the Sydney region, within roughly 50km radius from the Sydney CBD, where my icon is. Melbourne has ~4mil, Brisbane has ~2mil, so you've got almost half the population of Australia crammed into those three major cities.
Source.
This compares to New York, which despite being the biggest city in the USA, has less than 3% of the US population. LA is the second biggest city, and it barely has 1% of the population.
Source.
Edit: Wow, I didn't realise that if Sydney were in the USA, it'd be the second most populous city... And Melbourne would be third...
Then again,
China
leaves us all for dead, lol.
Yep, Sydney and Melbourne are huge, it's just the vast nothingness in between that makes our population so small.
EDIT: Also, I'm wondering why Gosford/Wyong isn't listed there. The two LGAs have a combined population of over 400k (250 in Gosford/150 in Wyong). I assume they are included in either the Sydney or Newcastle totals, especially considering Gosford is considered an
exurb
of Sydney

Gosford / Wyong falls under
Central Coast
(280k).
The Australian Bureau of Statistics considers the Central Coast to be part of the Sydney Statistical Division. However, it also identifies the Central Coast as the Gosford-Wyong Statistical Region.
Having said that, my explanation was a bit off - only 3.6mil live in the immediate Sydney region. The other 900k live in the 50-100km radius around the CBD, roughly (i.e. Central Coast, Richmond).
