Save the axe toss stun for when the target gets to you. You'll get geared out pretty quickly in quests and your survivability will increase tremendously.

Spend the money on the Felguard glyph. Get the aura of foreboding. Use it to your advantage to control encounters. I usually pulled with curse of elements and then threw on dots followed by HoG. The Felguard's survivability will also dramatically increase so just keep plugging away. Make sure you're talented for healing your pet based on a % of the damage you do.

I never used the decimation proc right now as I'm always using the incinerate proc which is a much faster cast time.
What about when MC doesn't proc? Doesn't make any sense.
If MC is up, cast Incinerate
If Decimate is up, cast Soulfire
If both are up, cast Incinerate

I'm going to get the glyph and I'm going to shift my points from decimation into aura of foreboding. I never used the decimation proc right now as I'm always using the incinerate proc which is a much faster cast time.
You'll want to keep decimation around if you want to have it as a filler for the final 25% of a boss fight. Right now the bosses don't last long enough, but they will down the road. You can always respec later of course to bring decimation back but I found it great for spiking at the end of a boss fight when demo spec.
I'm sure that will change later at the end game, but when doing random dungeons now, nothing lasts long enough except the final boss, and even then I'll just chain incinerate. I end up casting Rain of fire for 90%+ of the dungeon anyways. When I'm soloing trash never lives long enough to sue decimation.
I also made the mistake of using rain of fire - it's not bad, but it's not as good as hellfire. Try it out. For all your trash pulls you should be able to at least use hellfire if your CDs are used up. Get in the fight. For mega AoE you can of course throw a HoG timed well on a pull, then use the crit chance bonus for your pet off that to send him into felstorm while you pop demo form, leap into the group, stun them all, then pop immo aura and hellfire. Those are fun dps numbers.

I though this patch hellfire was supposed to remove the self damage effect?
Yes, that was the original idea. But I guess it was too OP in PvP, so they let the negative part stay. I dunno.
I do think the difference in damage done to the target compared to you gets smaller the higher your level. And ofc once you get to 80+, the stam on your gear starts to skyrocket :)
