Depends on if the warrior/Paladin is wearing true platemail, or a full suit of plate armor.

It's not just the platemail that adds the weight though the thickness varied over the centuries as technology advanced to decrease the penetrative powers of such things as bullets. But there were in fact layers underneath the plate consisting of chainmail and at times fabric such as silk which was quite effective at preventing arrows from penetrating further. A shield and sword are also quite hefty by themselves.
As well, the average infantryman's equipment of today is primarily objects that can be hung from the belt or carried on the back as opposed as having that weight distributed all around the body in the form of the armour.

It may not be extremely heavy, but just like any heavy armor, you're not going to run a marathon in it. =P

Azerothian metallurgy is special; people can literally dance while wearing several pounds of metal, yet at the same time, survive strikes that would completely shatter lesser beings, such as those who wear cloth and leather.
