Is combat going to be viable as a PvE spec once 4.0.6 hits? Because currently its nowhere close to assassination.

In assassination, I do 14k dps unbuffed sustained(about 4 million damage done) on a 88(boss) dummy. In combat I do only 11. Partly caused by the fact that my gear is reforged/gemmed for assass but I also get the feeling that if it was reforged correctly my dps still wouldn't jump to equal assassination.

Elitist Jerks is a great site, but one size doesnt always fit all.
They say that going ruptureless is a slight decrease in DPS, but when I go ruptureless its a big gain. (perhaps cpu performance/latency have something to do with it)
They also say assassination is slightly ahead (slightly) But I personally witness Assassination rogues out dpsing combat rogues by a Sizable margain.
And while some might say "cool story bro" There is always world of logs, where it appears more ppl than just me are witnessing the same thing.
Blizz is buffing combat for a reason. and it is this simple... Assassination is more than 4% ahead when you take the theorycrafting off the spreadsheet and into the actual raid.

that's why people needs to understand the difference between theorycrafting and real enviroment. (i'm not saying you're wrong, actually there are some good points.)
it had been explained multiple times. theorycrafting involves a fight simulation that is patchwerk-style, 100% time on boos and near to zero movement. button-bashing only.
in current raid enviroment we don't have fight like that (most near is argaloth, but with movement every 30% and attacking from the front) so expect the simulation to be a little off.
theorycrafting shows the potential of a spec. comabt now is just a little behind assa, but in a perfect enviroment using his entire arsenal. assa can sustain much better the movement and the aoe atm, so the difference between the two specs are accentuated (in favor of assassination). combat needs all of these buffs. we can always run dual spec (assa for aoe heavy and combat for single target).

On almost every fight, Combat is 4-5k dps lower than assassination according to

I cant say I am surprised Antherius.
It just seems in ANY actual recorded situation Assassination is so far ahead of Combat we have to describe it in vivid terms rather than percentage points
I would like to see if there is some recorded info for my other assertion, that despite solid spreadsheet theorycrafting data, ruptureless actually outperforms a rupture cycle.
Cant wait for Mah Buff!
