Sharith was about to retort to the humans jab with a no doubt witty rejoinder when 'the big one' hit the cratered patch of land and gave a shrill ring of warning, cutting through even the cacophony of the battlefield.
"She's gonna blow! Hahaha!" A goblins voice loudly declared from the bomb.

Varyn Brighthammer, Sharith Dawnbreeze

With a concussive blast of heat the bomb exploded causing the flimsy undead to be blasted to pieces and anyone caught nearby to be blown off their feet and rattled around like toys. The already fractured ground split open even more and the very ground trembled in the explosions force. Varyn's ice block tipped backwards, so great the explosion causing Sharith to push against it lest she be crushed beneath the frozen mage.

Varyn's ice block, having held through the blast regardless of the layer of ice melted off it from the blast faded away after a few moments of silence. The unfortunate mage's eyes rolled back and fell backwards into Sharith's arms. She rolled her eyes and huffed in displeasure.
"I suppose I can forgive you, this time." She muttered into the ear of the unconscious engineer before hefting him over her shoulder. "At least you won't argue about going to light's hope anymore."

Character
: Alaric Dalson
Location
: Crusaders' Square, Stratholme, Eastern Plaguelands
Alaric took several steps in the direction of the trio. He raised his maul and slammed it into the nearest warrior, blood fountaining all over the place as the crusader's ribcage - and, most likely, spinal cord - was crushed under the unholy might. The human's feet left the ground as the sheer brutality of the attack hurled him at James and Alexandros.

"Argh, what the fel do you keep in that backpack?" Sharith complained, her knees buckling beneath the the seriously underestimated weight of the engineer and his equipment. "Forget it," she muttered as she dropped him back on the ground and shook him, "wake up! I'm not going to carry you all the way to the chapel."

Alexandros Hopewell
Crusader's Square
Alexandros saw the body. Everything seemed dark and sluggish, it flew at him as if he were underwater. He shoved James out of the way, taking the hit himself. Darkness was filled by light, and the world changed from slow motion to fast forward.
He stood, blood and dirt and flesh caked his hair to the side of his head. Arcanite Reaper lay next to him, where the Death Knight had dragged it. He reached down to grab it with his right hand, but nothing responded. The entire arm hanged limp, his fingers mere inches from the axe.
He sighed, "James," He said, grabbing the axe in his left hand. He looked at the duelist and the remaining warrior. "I'll do what I can, you just get out of here."
He turned, placing Arcanite Reaper on his back. "Come on!" He yelled, slapping his chest with his left hand. "You can't kill me, can you? And do you know why? Because I fight for my country, for my people! I fight for the return of happier days! Of days where people don't have to fear abominations like you!"
Alex charged Alaric, screaming.

"Funny you should say that," Alaric said calmly. Swinging his maul one-handed he struck at the Reaper, getting it out of his way. His other hand closed around Alexandros's throat. "First, I was thinking on similar lines. Second, I do not mind being an abomination in other's eyes as long as I protect my country. Third," he finished, squeezing the life out of Hopewell, "I can and will kill you."

"Ugh, I don't feel so good." Varyn complained as he blinked in confusion. Sharith sighed and offered a hand to the mage to help him up.
"Get up, we have some distance to go yet." She groused. The human gave a slight smile as he accepted the hand and was pulled to his feet, brushing himself off.
"Well, all and all it could have been worse." He told her with a weak grin, a loud booming noise in the background. "Oh fel, I think that was the tank." Varyn told her remorsefully, looking back to the direction they had come in.
"What? How many shells were in there?" Sharith demanded. Varyn shrugged helplessly.

Alexandros Hopewell
Crusaders Square
"I'm... not... dead y-y-ye..."
Alexandros' sentance would never be finished. The world flashed as his life left him. For a moment he though it was the Holy Light, come to deliver him from death's embrace. But the light vanished and the world went dark for the once lutienent.
Alex's body fell limp, matching his broken arm.

Alaric stood silent for a few seconds, perhaps as a last token of respect. He then raised his hand in a rallying gesture and several ghouls ran up to him, accompanied by a skeletal mage.
"Take him and his weapon to the Fungal Vale," he said, picking up the Arcanite Reaper and looking at it thoughtfully for a few seconds before handing it over. "You," he continued, "are in charge, and may the gods have mercy upon you if something happens to the body, or to the axe. Dismissed."
With the lesser undead running away, the baron calmly began advancing on the remaining duo.
