AFAIK, the duration of a lot of roots (and CC in general) have been reduced as well.

All these years I've thought "They can nerf my damage, but they can never nerf my freedom!" I was wrong. So wrong. =[

It is clear neither VoodooMojo nor Foleynuts partake or enjoy the feral druid pvp experience that will soon laid to rest. I´m thinking if they did they would be frothing at the mouth along with the rest of us who love druids too much to take this wtfbbq shafting lying down..
"Small change".. really, VoddooMojo.. really? If that is your general conclusion of this whole debacle I have distinct feeling that some government may owe you unpaid benefits for your most recent delvings into the world of the mentally handicapped.
And if I were joking, as the whole blizzard enterprise seems to be.. in some twisted Kafka-eske manner, I would have said:
"A druid walks into a bar in caster form and orders a beer.. he hands the barkeep a hundred dollar bill - the barkeep looks a the druid and says: "What.. no change?"
I know.. a
BAD
joke.
Just like this whole cursed nerf!
The
entire
Hunter community would fill pages on how Focus would be the death of the class, how we'd play like rogues, how the change was the worst thing to ever happen to the class. That was in October. Now? The only minor complaint is focus generation in PvP. That's it. Change, despite the size or magnitude, will always be followed with "the sky is falling on my class". Relax. It's the PTR. Unless you've seen firsthand the impact in low, medium, and high levels of all forms of Arena, Rated BG's, and normal BG's there's no point in speculation on how this will affect you particularly since the changes on the PTR aren't even close to final.

However, as far as pve is concerned, this isn't a nerf. If anything, ferals are getting buffed.
cats are getting buffed. maybe. we'll have to see how dps looks after taking damage out of bleeds and putting them into abilities affected by armor mitigation and such.
but bears are getting even more of the shaft since they will no longer be able to break fear (on our final talent too...one which has been fine breaking fear for some time now..) or get out of roots. so unless the other tanking classes are losing their similar tools this seems to be a point lost in all the cat/pvp qq.

I love how an automatic dispel of roots is considered the "very soul of the class." IMO, it's an outdated and gimicky bonus for being a druid that is horribly unbalanced. The only way to balance its effectiveness is to nerf form switching, which doesn't allow you to heal/CC effectively.
Seriously, look at this:
Cats move 30% faster innately. You also have travel form which is 40% faster.
You have Feral Charge which can be used in Cat or Bear form.
Cat form takes less fall damage. This is nice for creating shortcuts in some BGs.
Cats have Dash; Cats and Bears have Stampeding Roar. These all give you the ability to move quicker.
You also have caster form! Yes, your ranged attacks will be weak in full agility gear, but your cyclone and roots will benefit from haste, and you can heal yourself a bit while you're stuck.
So, whoopty-freakin-do, you can't automatically dispel roots anymore. Considering how mobile druids will be even without that, I don't foresee a problem.
