My imaginary wizard club is so much better than your imaginary wizard club. And I'll prove it!
I play both, and take neither seriously.

The Shattering happens before Wolfheart, Honor's Point attack was already started then; sorry but no, Alliance invaded first.

/shrug.
Believe what you want man, I'm tired of playing this game with you.
I know what I've seen in the quests on the game. No retcons. Honor point and durotar were invaded while the peace treaty was still in place, its why they caught the orcs by surprise.
If you wanna believe otherwise for whatever reasons that's YOUR problem, not mine.
Edit: GAH, damn you adamsm , you beat me by 10 seconds, WTF?

I play both, because I want to experience both. I also enjoy both :)

Don't think I've ever heard of it being mentioned in The Shattering before, source? Not saying I don't believe you, I just want to be sure, because I've never read the novel so I can't just agree without being positive about it.
The quests in Durotar told Horde players the attack from the Alliance forces started before the Cataclysm/Shattering event occurred, and since Wolfheart happens after that point well....

The Time Line Sold: The Shattering book happens, first portion of Curse of the Worgen/Gilneas starting zone happens, the portion where it's written in the quests about the start of the Alliance invasion of Durotar occur are mentioned before Garrosh had come home from Northrend, the actual Shattering Cataclysm occurs, the rest of the Gilneas starting zone/Curse of the Worgen happens, Wolfheart occurs, Silvepine Forest quests start up.
And they wouldn't mention because the Stormwind forces were hitting Durotar before the rest of the world erupted into war.
So yes, by the time line, that happened before Wolfheart. Also; the Ashenvale Elves have been at semi-war with the Warsong Orcs since Vanilla: All that would have happened was the treaty set up at the end of Wrath, putting both sides on an uneasy truce; but as Stormwind broke it first, the Warsong would have felt 'justified' but if you also do the quests for the Goblins in Azshara, you learn more about the war too.

up until recently ive been strictly alliance. I Guess i got bored with the seemingly endless heroic/raid grind each week, but i made a horde toon on a diffent server. i dont play my ally toons that much anymore. i decided to quest level as opposed to dungeon level like i did my last few allys, and its kind of refreshing and new as i never experienced the opposite factions lore. I find a greater appreciation for the horde races now that ive been working on a few.

But who sent them? It's never revealed to be Jaina or Varian or any other alliance leader, it could've been officers acting independantly of them, Northwatch could have easily been acting on their own. I don't wanna say we don't know if it was Varian or Jaina because then I sound like I'm being biased and denying it, but it's true that nothing indicates that they had anything to do with it. I think Varian would've mentioned it in wolfheart if he had anything to do with it. Like, wondering how the invasion of Durotar he ordered is doing.
I'm just saying there's nothing to indicate that they had anything to do with it. It was however probably several superior officers who decided on their own to invade durotar, and the forces in durotar are Daelin Proudmoore fanatics, which should tell you a lot right there.
.....Northwatch is allied with Stormwind Sold. And since the war was already open at that point, he's not about tell the other leaders he broke the pact.
Also: All of Proudmoore's forces were killed before the Cataclysm, go do the quests in Durotar already.
So yeah, you are attempting to do the same thing you accuse everyone in L&RP of doing; so, so long and thanks for all the fish, you are going to think whatever you want to think is right.

I play alliance exclusively. I have tried Horde a couple of times, but aesthetically Alliance appeals to me more. I like the races better in terms of character creation options, the mounts are prettier and regardless of who did what to who in the past, I just tend to see less quests while leveling that make be feel :(
I have a lot of friend who play horde- I think it's whatever appeals to you the most.

Didn't Asakawa say to debate the points, not the person?
Didn't Asakawa ban you like 3 times for refusing to reasonably debate the points?
Under those circumstances, I'd imagine that Adamsm telling you he's not going to debate with you is the only option.

Either way doesn't matter, if Varian did send them it's because he's sick of the horde's crap. Still, you think it would've come up, then again I guess that doesn't prove he didn't send them./head desk Whatever Sold; believe as you like, since the truth doesn't matter to you.
