So last night I left my first group mid-fight ever.
We were in Heroic SFK, fighting the first boss. About the 6 minute mark I right-click and leave group.
Yes, 6 minutes into the boss fight. I know it was 6 minutes as my fresh Beacon of Light from the start of the fight had worn off and I put up a new one.
The boss was at 90% health again.
High DPS for the fight was 7K. Low? Well.... We won't talk about low.
At least I know it wasn't my fault. I had everyone alive (I heal) and still had 80% of my mana or so. Healing that fight is wicked easy if they don't interrupt any of his crap.
fail group is fail.

You would have ended up wiping in the burn phase because of the stacking shadow damage debuff. Archangel would have wrecked you.

I'd call you a !@#$%^bag for dropping the group and not accepting your death, but in this case, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt lol. That's pretty awful.

SFK heroic is not a nice place if you don't have at least one decent interrupter and someone who can catch the odd one during a cooldown.

Yeah, that's a ^&*!@. Unless OP is a blood elf, he's got
one interrupt
, and it's on the GCD with a one minute cooldown. If he's a blood elf, he's got
an instant
, but he has to be within 8 yards and the cooldown on that one is two minutes. I don't blame him for lack of interrupts.
As a paladin tank, I've more than once in that instance (and others to boot) had to take over interrupts from failDPS who can't seem to get interrupts off in a reasonable amount of time. I do this by slowing my threat generation down (I seriously outthreat my DPS - Omen usually shows one really long spike and four 2-3 pixel long bars) and saving my Avenger's Shield for whatever it needs to be saved for. Generally I use Hammer of Justice and Arcane Torrent to shut down Stay of Execution, and lay off on AS as he approaches 50% to shut down Mend Rotten Flesh.
Every melee DPS out there has an instant, off the GCD interrupt that they can hit to stop these things, from skull bash to kick to pummel to strangulate to... Well, whatever all those names are. I'm pretty certain they all have or can be talented to 10 second cooldown times, which is more than enough to shut down "must be interrupted" effects - yet I'm still eating lava bolts, water bursts, watching the boss heal to full on Mend Rotten Flesh, etc.
I need to start saying at the beginning of an instance, "I have never voted to kick someone because their DPS was below average. I always votekick people who can't interrupt effects."

HoJ doesn't interrupt anymore unless you're Prot.

Ah, right, I'd forgotten that. So OP was in an even more unenviable position - that of having no interrupts of any use whatsoever.
