Stat Priority for Destruction

Recently, i switched from Demo/ Afflic to Destro/Afflic. According to EJ, The Stat priority for destruction in heroics( assuming hitcapped) are Crit> Haste> Mastery. I was just wondering why mastery and haste are behind crit as Mastery is supposed to benefit destruction more..

What on earth are you talking about? Who says Mastery is supposed to benefit destro more?

also, EJ's simcraft thread shows results for very specific circumstances. it does not show "The Stat priority for destruction in heroics( assuming hitcapped)" it shows the stat weights for a pre-raid geared destro lock wearing that specific gear using that specific priority list on a patchwerk raid boss for ~300seconds (20% randomized length).
if you aren't wearing that gear and using that precise priority structure and fighting a patchwerk raid boss for that length of time then those weights start to become less specifically useful to you.

haste is an important stat that has large peaks in it's strength around certain values (namely 10, 30, 50, 70%). since the EJ profiles hit those plateaus they show low values for haste but that doesn't tell the whole story.

Sometimes I amaze even myself with my slowness.
Even though I made a post about it days ago, I've only just realised we can once again drop back to the old stand by.

Ive always gone
Hit>Int>Haste>Mastery(now thats its in game)>Crit
Now that spell casters get crit from Int and we have Nethermancy, in my own opinion, havent felt like stacking crit was quite as crucial(not to say I stacekd crit before). In most cases My crit on gear gets reforged to hit if im not hit capped and haste next. Im letting the mastery come on its own with gear for right now.
But a thing to remember is that the game is barely two weeks old and there are still lots of things people are still figuring out. But yeah...thats how I stat weigh for myself. I think its close to the FAQ but I could be wrong.

The way I've been doing it is reforging any crit into haste until it becomes nearly GCD capped then forging mastery. (hit capped ofc)
Ive always been first on DPS so far in randoms/guild runs while maintaining two forms of cc, usually around 12-13k in a 5-man at 333 ilevel-ish stuff

come on mate, you've been around here long enough to know that phrases like "the way i've been doing it" and "i've always been first on DPS" make any point you're trying to make very weak. play with terrible players and your bad decisions will always look great.
int is stronger than hit right now but int is more limited. you only get the amount associated with the ilvl and you can't reforge to it. however, you SHOULD be gemming for int when you can.
haste is strong when it gets you to a plateau at which immo gains an extra tick and is relatively weak between those points. make sure you can hit a sweet spot when raid buffed.
crit is stronger than both haste and mastery (by a VERY SMALL margin).
this is general advice which has limited usefulness. sim your guy.
