Bubble + LoH is not survivability. Nothing on long cooldowns like that for any class is survivability. They are last ditch efforts that arnt part of, nor should be part of normal tactics. If you have to rely on them, youre either doing something wrong, or the tree is in need of tweaking.
Ret is in need of this. It is beyond ridiculous to pretend bubble+loh are anything but oh *!@# buttons. Youre basically saying that retribution should not go into a PvP encounter more than once every few minuets in order to be balanced with any other given class. Thats horse#$%^ and harkens back to what it was like for this class back in 1.xx.

a feared tool. And to compound that, FoL heals for crap and takes a third of our mana. So we cant exactly spam that a few times in the span of a stun and go on about our merry way. HL is useless more than not as well. So you want to speak of survivability? Warriors and rogues are quickly catching upto us in terms of self healing ability for %^&*s sake.

First 30K AOE is easy right now, ROFL.......lies.
Howling Blast isn't affected by the AOE cap anymore, so far as I can tell. I could pull 20k in 4.0 before the Shattering on my Frost DK in Halls of Stone. I could see a Frost DK pulling 30k pretty easily on those little trogg guys in Grim Batol.
EDIT: Why are we even discussing AOE damage? It hardly matters in most runs, outside of the fun "LOL BURST TEH TROGGS" moments. Nine out of ten trash pulls should be handled one target at a time.
And yes, we do have survivability, and we survive in the bubble while others could die.....again, spamming bs.
Bubble is hardly a survivability tool as Ret, as it also cuts your main use -- damage-dealing -- in half, while offering you nothing more than 8 seconds of immunity. During those 8 seconds, you will take no damage, but also have very little output of damage. Any class with heals will take your bubble time to heal themselves up -- probably better than you can -- and have an even better advantage by the time your survivability ability is finished.
As Holy, the bubble can be highly useful -- it can free you of CC and allow you to continue casting heals without any sort of interruption. In the right hands, it's a very powerful cooldown. As Ret, it's nothing better than a PvP trinket with some dispels.

One way to be taken seriously is to use proper grammar. When you post walls of text, people are likely to just ignore it, or only read the first sentence (which, in your case, did nothing but hurt your credibility).
If you can offer distinct points in a well-formed argument, you're far more likely to be taken seriously, and your discussion to matter.

Where did they say this? I mean, I would LOVE for it to happen, but all I've seen is they "might" look at Ret dps...

Retri paladin is not finished atm. The real DPS is with all ur CDs but once they end your DPS drop to half and its hard to sustain it , even when ur CDs come back up. With 340il i do 12k on boss dummy but after my wings and zeal end the DPS drops to 8,5-9k. Even guildies are surprised when i get more that 10k in raid. Every one who plays pally knows what to do , but there are still some issues blizz needs to fix , or to take other classes DPS down so retri's can have they're place in recount.

Isn't that true, for like, every class? I thought that was the point of having CDs in the first place, that you have higher DPS while they're up. Then, presumably, your overall DPS will fall again once they expire.

I can hold a complete steady 9k DPS on my Boomkin without ever using Treants or Starfall. Even with my 3 minute cooldown popped, I only get a couple hundred extra DPS out of it. Compared to a Ret Paladin, who can have... what, a 50% increase in DPS?... There's quite a difference between a Ret Paladin using the cooldowns and not. This will make them look like crap in trash pulls, but just fine on a boss fight.
I haven't been playing Ret since I hit 85, but being so reliant on those cooldowns seems harsh, even for a class that's always had a thing for burst.

I skipped past all the other arguing threads, so sorry if I missed something in the last couple weeks. At 85 with some 359 epic gear, I am usually averaging 16k on bosses, and hit in the 18-19k range with all CD's burned and a solid rotation. Hit my best in Heroic Blackrock Cavern with near 19k on a single boss. I am not sure if this is very good on other servers, but I am usually one or two tops in dps on bosses. Anyone else hitting in the 20k, single target yet?

I'm no noob, I was in the top 3 DPS in my ICC 25 man raid group, if you are wondering what kind of gear, 6050 gear score should give you an idea.
I was using the same rotation Pezz mentioned, with guardian of ancient kings hitting for 5-6k about 10 times. and still only managing 9-10k DPS on a
level 60
target dummy.
My weapon by the way is axe of earthly sundering, that may explain things but I think I should be pushing a lot more DPS either way.
O_O icc as a freaking 30% dps buff health and heal and u have 10 to 25 other ppl buff the crap out of u u need to take in account alot of other things man 1st off ur not capped on hit or exprtise so its harder to hit crap and ur doing 10k dps with out the huge icc buff so if u think about it u are doing about 30% more damage it just dosnt seem that way on ur dps recount b/c the numbers are same as icc >.>
