"Ah, a potential customer, no, wait, three potential customers!" - exclaimed the flight master excitedly, rubbing his hands as Alexander approached him. The happy look on the goblin's face faltered somewhat as he looked up at the gilnean, whose stance could be described as 'looming'.
"Theramore, three of us," said Alexander, taking out the money and counting out the tax to a copper. The goblin cursed in the back of his mind - clients that knew the pricing by heart were among the things he liked the least. Before he could snatch the money and head out to fetch the gryphons, Alexander added evenly, "And two of the steeds should be nice, peaceful and taught well, so see to it."
Some primal instinct told the goblin that, probably, it was a very bad idea to displease this cornstalk of a human, so he headed away, muttering under his breath.

"Miss Stormfeather..."
The druid sighed before continuing, "While it is true that many of them are quite a pain to talk to, it was them to help many of the races establish trade contacts, and they practically own the service sector of neutral territories at least. We have no choice but to learn how to co-exist with them."

"I was never implying we have to like them, miss Stormfeather, and neither did I intend to offend you," said Alexander calmly. He wanted to add something else, but the flight master returned to the scene, leading two chestnut and one charcoal black gryphons, the latter being considerably larger than his companions.
"There you go, mister, the chestnut ones are quiet and peaceful, just as you have asked," - said the goblin, smirking. Alexander sighed, knowing all too well what it meant, and handed the money over. He then snatched the black gryphon's reins and pulled him away from the other two, resulting in an enraged wing-flapping and cawing.

"Well, I wish I could have avoided this," sighed Alexander, morphing.
"You don't play silly bugger with me, birdie!" growled Duskhide menacingly, his jaws slamming shut with a loud clang some inches from the gryphon's beak. The latter cawed quietly and stood still, acknowleding the presence of a stronger predator. Duskhide grinned ear-to-ear at the flight master, who had suddenly gotten sickly greenish-yellow, and nonchalantly mounted the winged steed.
"Off we go, ladies."

The black gryphon soared into the sky almost vertically, and did several triumphant laps over the chestnuts before cawing at them commandingly and heading south. If the beast tried to unnerve Duskhide, the attempt was vain.

The black gryphon seemed to be content with Rhey's steed taking the lead, and surprisingly enough the beast was flying steadily, wings going up and down as if powered by a spring - yet.

The black gryphon cawed and darted forward, hell-bent on making it to the ground first.

"I doubt that," - came a cheerful growl from Duskhide, accompanied by an ear-piercing screech from the druid's steed. The latter's wings were now a dark blur that probably looked mesmerizing, although Duskhide couldn't tell from his point of view.
Theramore was several hundred yards away.

"Show her, lad," Duskhide let out something between a murmur and a growl and snapped the reins. The black steed lunged forward, finally taking the lead. When mere yards divided them from the stables, the gryphon slowed down, spun around and let out his species' equivalent of arrogant sneering at Rheyana's mount.

If gryphons could shrug, the black one did just that, following Rhey's steed as if he owned the place. Duskhide jumped off of the winged beast, shifted back into his human form and peered into the skies, looking for Nova.
