Quebec wants to split, but still use Canadian money, have free access to all the goods and pretty much still be part of the Country...except they are not.

I'm not from Canada, but I'd like to hear more about this. Why exactly does Quebec want to split?

Why?
I thought you hated bias. Yet I see it here, unless you have a really good reason.

What the hell are you talking about ?
The Quebec party and the quebec residents who wants to split from Canada want to make Quebec, an independent country.
And why not ? We have the economic ressources. We have a culture and a language different of the rest of the country. Like most canadian provinces, our social system ( health, schools, etc... ) is mainly administrated by the provincial government.
We have all the tools to be an independent country. The only reason we didn't separated yet is because this political decision doesn't make a majority in the population.

And the provincial government still is connected to the federal government. I remember comments from the past that the Quebec'ers would still expect the assistance from the rest of the country till they 'established' themselves; which completely goes against the reason for the split in the first place. Not to mention the idea of separating in the first place is a little asinine; not like it's either a Maritime province, BC or one of the territories: it would still share borders with the rest of the country, would suddenly have tariff's for leaving the country and all the rest.

Not all of them, but quite a few; they seem more intent on just leeching off the rest of the country, and act like it's a chore to support the rest.

Of course, the federal and provincial are still connected. That's how countries with territories works. The federal make sure is working properly but most of the decisions are taken in the province.
And I do not agree about the economic impact. It's true that if Quebec become independent, one more border will need to be crossed to transport canadian products to european countries ( unless they build ports in the James bay ) but a vast majority of our trades is made with the U.S.A and Asia.
By the way, why did you add BC to the provinces that would not cause international trades problem if they decide to split ? If this province wants to become independent, Canada will have problems to trade with Japan and China.
And about Quebecers who would like some kind of "support" after the split, I am fairly sure it was not from serious politicians. Like I said, I am fairly confidant that Quebec got the economic power to be a country as long as we keep healthy economic trades with Canada ( which is not the same as receiving support ).
Sounds about as stupid as the idiots here in Texas saying we should separate from the United States. Being independent just to be independent has failed for countless third-world countries; their citizens now, besides those in power, probably wish they never would have become independent.
You clearly have no idea of what you are talking about.

And I choose BC primarily because it was on the coast heh.

You clearly have no idea of what you are talking about. You have yet to demonstrate a reason as to why they should be independent. Obviously the idea of other countries' failures with becoming independent did not sink in with you.
like Americas horrible failure to be independent?
owai
America had the distinction of being on a new continent half the world away from it's owner, and it almost failed several times.

Any chance of references? This is both new and interesting, especially considering that I've friends in Quebec and they've never mentioned anything like this before.
If by 'new' you mean it's been going on for the last 15+ years(possibly more)....pretty much anything about Quebec separating from the rest of the country Iron is easy to find on a search.
