To what purpose? Both from Quebec and Canada are convinced they are right, but won't actually tell anyone else reasons for the split.
It's not like the thread will be derailed forever.

Same reason areas of the South still want to secede from the States.

Because Quebec supports slavery and has a completely different economy from the rest of Canada? And because Republicans are in power?

I live in the South and I know of no one that wants to secede. Really, the only people in the USA that I've heard of wanting to secede is Texas.

There are still a few places in the really deep South that do.
For some reason I remember a story about a government building flying the Confederate flag over the American one, but I think I may just be imagining things.

Well this is all news to me. I'm about as deep South as you can get and I don't hear anyone talk about wanting to secede.

Heh, yeah, but who are all the stories and rumours about Queggy? Quebec is our Deep South.

It's South Carolina. Not really a surprise coming from the first state to ever secede from the Union.

Oh, what a charming coincidence. Obviously, it is up to the will of the people living in Quebec, to decide how they wish to govern themselves. From what I've read about it though, I must say I am against them splitting off, it would not do them, or the left-over provinces any good, especially not in the long run.
