The problem is not that I don't want to accept it's evul that companies make a lot of profit of one game and don't put it back in that one game only, but have to pay for lesser running titles, the problem is that you don't understand the difference between gross income, net income, earnings and profit.
You are moaning over two numbers, but are not looking at the whole picture when it comes to what it costs to run a company.

I'm not even saying that. I understand they can't pump all their money back into WoW. It is not safe financially, in the long run, to bet all your money on one horse. You have to diversify as well as introduce new IP's in order to survive. I just think it would be more profitable if they put a larger sum of that money than they currently do back into WoW. We go with very long breaks with minimal new content. During those down times WoW loses lots of subscribers, some of which never come back. If they produced more content not only could they retain those subscribers but it would benefit the consumer as well. A happier consumer base means that they mention the game to more of their friends which ultimately adds to even more profits as new subscribers are sucked in.
I especially feel this way when I see them waste tons of money destroying a franchise I originally quite enjoyed (Guitar Hero), and it blows up in their face in the form of lost profits.
Let's see the reports your million-dollar consultants drew up for you which proves that your way is actually going to increase Blizzard's profits more than the reports THEIR million-dollar consultants said they could increase their profit by.
And he's not attacking you personally. If you think all the businesses selling a certain product are doing it poorly, you make your own company. Put up or shut up; welcome to capitalism.

Interesting conversation just as Blizz ready's Cata for release. Maybe better to complain during a dry spell?

Just to say, Shin, Blizz and Activision merged.

Again, what it boils down to is this:
For the amount of money that Blizzard makes off this game, they could be doing a lot more with it.
I'm not saying that they need to or have to, and I'm not saying that we deserve a better game, but the fact of the matter is, they make a ton of money and don't do all that much with it to improve the experience. In other words,
they don't care.
Whether they should or not is irrelevant.
For instance, I would bet that if a company like Bioware made as much money as Blizzard did, they could and would make just about the best MMORPG experience possible.

As long as it's just them, and not someone else 'forcing' them to make the game..../shudders at the thoughts of KotoRII and what could have been.....

Also, you don't "deserve" anything. They are offering a service for a predetermined amount of money. It's up to you whether you want that service enough.
You're right. Deserve was a poor choice of words. It's totally ambiguous. With no competition to speak of really, Blizzard is able to pretty much dictate what we "deserve". The point I was trying to make is that they could easily afford to give us more content.
December 7th, 2010.
Remember the date.
