MY STEAM BROKE
*slits own throat*
And wibbles Hyper.... >.>
HOW?
The process of using steam involves turning the liquid H2O into a gas through extreme heat, then funnelling the resulting gas in order to produce energy. Now, as heat naturally rises in order to displace cold air, the gas is then used to create pressure, which compels motion in the machine, or motion unto itself by releasing it like a rocket.
Therefore, by taking the before mentioned facts into consideration, we can infer that, in some capacity in the process of harnessing the steam, something was damaged and, by Atik's admission and in his own words, 'BROKE'. Now this could have been done a variety of ways. Improper care of equipment, perhaps the pressure was too great in the process of using it, corrosion, vandalism, or the like. These are the most likely culprits in breaking Atik's 'STEAM'. Now, if we consider what kind of person Atik is, we can further narrow down the likely cause of the damage.
Atik's distress at the fact that it was broken implies that he did not do so intentionally. That he committed suicide after it broke points towards it being of no small import (which we shall examine further at a later date). Therefore, we can eliminate the cause being through his own negligence.
This leaves the only likely cause to have been through, in a word, vandalism. Yes, likes the ancient tribe which lent it name and nailed those final nails into the coffin of Rome, it was through an outside source that Atik's 'STEAM' was destroyed. But who, we must ask, who could have committed such ann affront?
The answer is simple. Someone who has no love of steam. Someone who could profit from Atik's loss of steam. Someone, who left that blade in Atik's easy reach. Of course, the only option could be, the ELEPHANT!
Yes, the elephant. That quadrupedal behemoth which always lurks somewhere in the room. For, with the rise of steam resulting in the rail system, elephants lost their primary function as heavy lifters and transports of large amounts of capital. Clearly, the elephant sought to discredit steam by breaking Atik's 'STEAM', seeking a ripple effect which would damage to reputation of this new form of locomotion, thus returning their prominence in the world of business.
And there gentlemen, is your answer. But of course, the elephant could not have worked alone. And one day, this shadowy cabal which has been behind and beneath some of the most horrid of men from Chengis Khan to Napoleon shall slip up! And then I shall my proof. Proof, of the culpability and irredeemable evil of, the horse.
