7/10 chars with the mount - 6 new ones this year, 1/6 people in 2008. Warlock got the mount 3 times, D twice, Mage twice.
Only thing I am trying to get is the mask achievement on my paladin.
I am now obligated to hate you.

I know I am going to get some flack for saying this but...They need to lower the droprate on the mount. It used to be rare now you see a ton of people with it and it has gotten ridiculous.

Nah, I've only gotten one so far this year; they can drop the number after all 5 of my 80's have one.

Thing is, maybe it's not the drop rate but the fact killing this guy (and Coren Direbrew, too) was made so quick by making him accessible via the dungeon tool. This way, you can easily do him once every day on 10 toons in a matter of minutes... I mean, you keep seeing people saying, "I got the mount twice on an alt I don't even play... I want it for my main!"
But that really doesn't matter. Yes, he is more accessible, but you actually (should) have a smaller chance at the mount because you have a once a day shot at in, instead of multiple summons throughout the day. I know last year I ran with a TON of people, even if I didn't have my summon, to try to get the mount. I know people who did over a hundred summons across their characters and never saw it drop.
Random loot is random, but the drop chance this year is a LOT higher than it has been in previous years.
Am I okay with that? Well... I don't know.
With my boyfriend and I's 6 characters, we've gotten seven reins to drop, all within the first four days of the event. I personally love this mount, I have been after it for years so I am happy I got it on my warrior who is my mount collector. But tbh, it didn't have the 'OMG' factor as any other of my rare drops had because I honestly expected it to drop because of so many people getting it. >_>
But oh well, what can you do?

I did Coren every day on all six of those characters and didn't see a single mount drop, but that wasn't the majority. Same as this year, people who HAVE gotten several (or at least one) mount are the majority, at least on my realm.
Last year I knew one person with the HH mount. Now 3/4 of the people in Dalaran are sitting on one, with every person in my guild having at least one set of reins (well, except the guildleader, but he's unlucky haha). People can try to argue with me all they want and say the mount is still as rare as it was, but the proof is there that it's not, just go look around Dalaran.

I actually concur. There's a lot of rumors flying around that the mount and helm droprates were switched up.

I doubt it, I've been checking my entire battlegroup and there's so many people riding the damn mount.

I actually wouldn't doubt this. I've only seen one blade, one helm and one pet drop from the HH loot pumpkin and compared to the mounts that's really low. But if the drop rates were truly switched and accidental, I think Blizzard would have fixed that right away.

It is definitely the droprate. I would be able to summon the HH about 10+times a day last year with going with my guild and us switching out alts and saw the reins drop once. And several others would do the same thing and had no drops. You would see very few headless horsemen mounts. Now as many who posted after me have said, you see them everywhere.
Some people did hundreds of summons last year without a single mount drop, that's true. Anyway, the fact that you got seven reins to drop this year already doesn't mean that it isn't rare anymore. I know several people who did Coren Direbrew on every single day on 10 characters this year - without getting a ram or a kodo.
To me, seeing 5 alts that aren't actively played except for doing some world event stuff (and that will surely be gone again once the event is over) sitting on a ram or kodo (or the horseman's mount) doesn't mean anything. I guess they're easier to get on
some
toon - because you don't have to look for people to summon for you, you don't need to make groups and travel, it's a single click and a short queue on every toon - but it's not gotten easier to get a mount on a particular character.
We aren't talking about the Direbrew mounts though. The difference in the number of Direbrew mounts I saw and Headless Horsemen mounts I see is big. The mount is not rare anymore.

Fair enough point. Most players in WoW really want the HH mount. It's awesome! It works as a flying and ground mount. They even fixed it so you don't have to re-summon it when leaving Dalaran from Krasus Landing. It looks very cool, and when you fly around on it there's no flappy-flappy wing noises (which don't bother me personally, but others have said they prefer their new HH mounts for this reason).
The simple fact that it is more common than it used to be does not make it any less awesome or less useful than it always has been. It just means more players get to *have fun* riding it. And it means a few players who already had one and liked to taunt other players with "Look what I have and YOU DON'T!" are now being whiny crybabies because they can't say that anymore.
I had a HH mount from last year on one of my alts. This year I have 4 HH mounts. My main was the last one to get it. My husband had never seen one drop in three years, but this year he finally got one. It was not "fun" for him to see all my alts riding around on the HH mount when he had never even seen one. Heck, it wasn't "fun" for me to listen to him grouse about the dang mount when I got it on my alt last year! I'd have much rather had the drop rate buffed and more people get to enjoy the thing.
Boo hoo! It's not "special" anymore... YES IT IS! It's still a ground and flying mount. It's still a unique mount skin. It's still a special event item. It's still FUN to ride around on it. It's just not something a few jerky people can use to pretend they are somehow "better than" other players just because they *randomly* got an item that is not common.
I have no problem with the mount...
Until I get like 4 reins on the same character (lol RNG)

1 Mount, 2 Helms on toons that can't use them, one Sword, dozens of Hallowed Helms and Squashlings, hundreds of masks and candy; RNG, Hate You I Do.
