Clearly got it messed up.
No exp rating at all, 7% hit, battlemaster > hwt and haste is a firm choice for pvp.
Mastery varies from specc to specc, i can imagine it being crazy for sub atm.

Yup, haste is a good choice.
And thing is that all rogue masteries got buffed/will get buffed, so epvalues differ.

I've seen a couple posts on here, and have seen other rogues on my server talking about how great Sub is for pvp now since the last patch.
Well currently there is no arena season, so you can only do duels and bgs.
All 3 speccs are currently viable, so just pick which one you enjoy.
I'm not really familiar with sub spec at all, but was wondering how much better it currently is than mutilate spec.
Sub is kind of dominating the lower brackets, but at 80 they are both okay.
The difference between them is not that much.
Is mutilate really that bad for pvp now?
Yes/no.
It'll prolly still live on as a bg specc, but currently it has no real trump card compared to sub. Sub is overall good (bloated aswell), while mutilate is more or less the same except for a few twist/fun abilities.

Idk just an idea i was thinking of i mean granted yea we would dish out more damage w/ haste but having a high doge % would = survivability in battlegrounds since arena season is over.
Great idea and lets start stacking stamina, because the more hp you have the longer you live!
Ps
No need to gimp your dps for useless stats.

You think that dodge will increase your chance of winning against 5v1?
Im not trying to be rude orso, but your logic is flawed in so many ways.
Also dodge is only for melee attacks
Dodge is a form of melee mitigation where the entire melee swing is avoided. Dodge is a passive ability possessed by all players for all classes and races.
However this stat is the most important to players fulfilling a tanking role. Only close range melee attacks can be dodged; a ranged attack or a spell cannot be dodged.
Players can only dodge attacks if they are facing their opponent, however a mob can dodge attacks that are from behind. Incapacitated targets (stunned for example) cannot dodge.

Feel free to test it out, saves me time and a respecc.
I have since tested out Blackjack with multiple saps, and the debuff provided from Blackjack indeed does not have a DR.
Thanks :)

- How much of my PVE gear can I keep to still have a good pvp gear set up? I am aware of the 900-1100 zone on res. and have a few 270 pvp items and a 264 pvp cloak item to help me up there. After that I am looking at "easy to get" pvp items which I simply don't know is a good idea in a 5 week window when I have 277 PVE items to equip instead.
I would say to get 2/5 relentless/wrathfull first, because with this you'll get the 2piece bonus of 100 resi.
After this i do suggest 4/5, but not mandatory.
Just try to get a good balance between pve and pvp gear, while being between the 900-1100 zone.
Sounds like you know your pve stuff, so you must know what will give you the most dps.
So just put all items in a row.
For example if you got belt, neck and cloak 277 pve & boots and wrists 264 pve, then obviously try to use the 277 as much as possible while replacing the 264s for pvp ones.
There is currently no season, so i cant give you a magic number on resi atm, especially with this crazy burst patch.
Its all about bgs, so you need to be sure to have a minimum of resi to survive dire moments.
I am human so am not constrained on the trinket choice as I have "Every man of himself" at hand.
What trinkets do you have?
If they arent that gamebreaking, then i would suggest to use the medallion.
Its 153 resi and 2min cd (instead of the 3min cd of emfh), which you so happen to need atm.
My assumption is to gem my pvp gear on res whilst under 900 then top up with Agi - am I right?
Never gem resi, you should really try to get this from gear.
- Always been an ASS/Combat rogue but recently tried Sub PVE post 4.0.1 with some nice stealth and non stealth castorder macros and quite enjoyed it... so I am leaning toward sub PVP for this period of time (good idea or stick to what I know)?
I would really suggest you to give all 3 speccs a try.
Im currently rounding my 3 speccs and i have to say that im leaning more towards combat pvp atm.
Although if things stay the way they are, i am going to be sub in cata.
So if you are trying to get worked for the near future, then stay sub for the extra experience.
Honestly, not knowing what to do as a PVP rogue has been my guilty secret for years and I am finally making a move to fix it... who knows, perhaps one day I will ENJOY Arenas!
I can only hope.
If this is the wrong place to ask for this advice, just let me know and I will find some elsewhere - sorry for the post and thanks for the top post on this thread, its got me part of the way there and I appreciate it. If not, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME its greatly appreciated.
Why would this be the wrong place?
Also you are welcome.
