Better?
Your post is flawed in many ways.
Ill start:
2. Gain 4+ combo points with Muti. If Muti hits four, then Expose Armor for a 5th point, and if its only at 3 CP then Muti again.
What?
How can you
Expose Armor
for a 5th point?
4. Muti x2 - 4/5 CP for SnD
5. SnD at 4+ CP.
Snd before rupture.
(You are gonna ask why anways, so ill explain)
Venomous Wounds
proccs from
Garrote
or
Rupture
, so you got some time to put a
Rupture
off untill
Garrote
falls off.
7.
Cold Blood, to control the envenom crit
, and Envenom.
- And then for the rest of the fight, juggle Rupture and Envenom as finishers.
Cold Blood to force envenom crits when possible
Cold Blood
is no longer mainly used for its 100% crit, the energy gain is far more important.
If no warrior is present, then Expose Armor whenever you don't wish to use a Muti to gain the extra 1CP. That is, if you don't want to Shiv.
This is wrong in so many ways :S
I would like to note that I -never- use backstab, even at the 35% mark for reasons I will state in a moment.
--Backstab-- (
60
energy cost/1, with a chance for a 2nd, CP)
-Hits 1347 dmg. Crits 3147 dmg. Has a chance to proc MH weapon poison.
Pretty nice. Now we look at Muti.
--Mutilate-- (
55
energy cost/2, with a chance for a 3rd, CP)
-Hit with both weps, around 1382 dmg. Crit with one weapon, hit with second, either 1946 or 2236 dmg. Crit with both hits, 3294 dmg. Has a chance to proc both MH and OH weapon poisons.
From what I have seen, Mutilate should not replace Backstab at all. However, if someone can explain to me in detail about why Backstab is more viable at the 35% marker, I'm open to anything - I like becoming better ;)
/facepalm
*Pst drop points out
Improved Expose Armor
for
Murderous Intent
and try again.*

I would also like to say that people shouldnt be afraid to post their opinions.
However they should be prepared for a rough flight.

i think the issue is actually posting in a guide format.
if a post is made that appears at first glance to be a well written guide the forum's good reputation leads readers to follow the advice. as such a post like that, if filled with mistakes and fallacies (as porkchop's was), needs to be repudiated fairly forcefully so that readers are not misinformed and so the reputation of the board is maintained.
new, inexperienced or ill-informed posters should always feel free to ask questions or take part in discussions but should avoid "you should all do what i do"-type posts unless they have some relatively solid maths to back it up.

Hey guys, how does the weapon speed affect choice of MH/OH weapons?
I've been searching the forums, but can't seem to find a topic thats relevant to 4.0+ patches.
So, before 4.0 the general consensus was that 1 slow 1 fast dagger, highest dps on MH, regardless if its slow or fast one, and for poisons you put deadly on fast and instant on slow.
Now in 4.0, so far I have been sticking to the above method, but I just got a upgrade and have been looking for some info regarding this matter.
I had
Bloodsipper
and
Wrathful Gladiator's Shiv
Today I finally got
Lungbreaker
to drop.
Now, I know lungbreaker is better than the wrathful's simply coz of the stats.
But, will it be a better MH than bloodsipper due to increased dps?
So should i go Lungbreaker/Bloodsipper in MH/OH or Lungbreaker/Wrathful's in MH/OH?

Hello, I just recently returned back to the WoW scene, and was curious if Mutilate's poisons changed at all after 4.0.1? It was Wound/Deadly before, and I've looked around for some clarification on whether it's changed or not, but can't find anything.

It was Wound/Deadly before
It was Instant/Deadly.

Im pretty sure the dps difference between your slow/fast and fast/slow will be very minimal, but nothing in this patch has contradicted what you have said (except fast/fast).
My advice would be to try both and see which one provides you the better results.

I got a question, probably a bit on the newb side,
Pre 4.0 I was able to pull STUPID F'N BURST on trash in raids with only FoK.
With the changes to the skill, (Energy cost, strength, radius, glyph ect.) I've noticed the DPS is still.. 'okay' but all other classes are lapping me, bursting.
What would be a better rotation for this purpose?
I am hit and expertise capped. I normally use IP MH DP OH, IP/DP RW
There MUST be something I'm over looking with just mashing FoK.

all aoe have been nerfed. also, don't give ANY CRAP about aoe or thrash dps (apart from some miniboss). everyone that posts recount logs on thrash dps is to consider a noob. also a really big one, since thrash dps is useful as a dead dps.
most of the times i go afk following a healer.
also, pre 4.0 fok was one of the best aoe due to focused attacks, now gone. there are better classes than us in aoe, but really, don't pay attention to that. use fok for better means like putiing crippling on all beasts at saurfang or something similar.

I'm having pretty bad aggro problems on Warrior and Pally tanks atm. I'm pulling threat quickly. (these tanks are in heroic icc 25 man gear, with some heroic tier as well. I picked up Glyph of Feint seems to be pretty helpful for a 3rd glyph. When cata comes out, i'll pick up Glyph of ToTT. Any thoughts on this?
your attacking too soon? i give tanks at least 5 seconds to grab aggro. i once got pissed at a tank during the lk fight...i attacked the lich maybe 3 seconds after he had aggro....he could not get aggro back from me until i died..which was ( thanx to some awesome heals) 25 seconds of me tanking the lich king.
Cool (and oh so relevant to the guide) story, bro.

Because FoK used to be far better than it is now. As pointed out there, who cares about trash dps? Frankly, it was sorta silly when we beat all other classes on AoE spam anyway. If you're worried about trash, just /assist chain the tank or look for the biggest, meatiest target that won't instantly go down in the AoE spam and go for it. In most cases, spamming FoK isn't worth doing anymore. I almost exclusively use it for PvP and BGs now, to expose other rogues and druids.
Also, how you apply poisons won't matter based on hand position, but speed of weapon. You want Deadly on your faster weapon because of it's new added ability to proc the other hand's poison if it's stacked 5/5, which is pretty much always will be after the first few seconds of a fight.
