About the thread itself, I can't say I'm aknowledged in Alterac enough to actually make educated responses. I always hated it (Yup, I joined retail in Wrath.) for being extremelly boring.
What could somehow be argued on the bridge debate would be the fact that alliance would, in an organised environment, be more free to get the players ready for action on the bridge, while the Horde team getting there would have encountered Alliance on the way and could have been led astray, or forced to fight elsewhere. I still don't see why Alliance can't do the same and pick the players that can take advantage from the terrain effectivelly. And (this one is somehow outrageously... taking nitpick to a new level) Alliance could (on cataclysm, obviously) arguably have the best knockback positions possible due to Shadowmelding Fire Mages with Blast Wave.
Notice how both of those require at least a pretty decent control of your team - and that won't ever happen in PuG AVs (or even nowadays premades, to be quite fair). So, for now, I'd say the bridge, although strategically offering better options to the Alliance
initially
, they're so far-fetched they practically won't influence statistics at all.
Those points are from page 6, but got a bit lost.
