Wow... I always thought the American stereotype of xenophobia and isolationism was a bit of a myth, but apparently it's not.
LOL a myth! If only.
My god, some pacificist muslim imam wanted to build a community center in New York, a few blocks from where 9-11 occured, and there was screaming outrage across the nation, as if he was opening a terrorist cell.
We didn't learn anything in the 1960s. We're told to be afraid of Muslims, Mexicans, Jews, Black people, etc etc. It's frustrating, depressing and despicable and it is one of America's major problems.
Not sure if you live in NY...I do...I think the issue is a little more complicated then how you explain it.
It not a few blocks away...it's in a building that was damaged by the event. Everyone just wants them to move it to a more discreet location. They have mosque in NYC..so your fear of Muslims comment ring hollows. I would liken it to Japan wanting to open a cultural center on Pearl Harbor 9 years after it happened. A little common sense please.
One other thing...you use the word "We" with a pretty wide brush stroke. Relax...we have black president remember. It's a work in progress, but it's better then it was decades ago

This. And I hope it won't be infecting WoW.

A few people make comments and it becomes Americans?
The continued silly comments heard from non-Americans is why we would want to head in that direction.

Wow
probably
(1) is declining as
everyone
(2) has suspected...
1) Generalizations do not make good discussion topics.
2) Don't think that 'everyone suspects' unless you have done extensive research and have contacted every WoW player.

As long as there are a reasonable number of people on at the same time Im on for me to play with I'm happy...I think if what op was trying to get at was wanting to know if subscriptions among those who live in timezones whos peak hours coincide with his usual play times were going steady this thread might make sense.....as it is, not so much.
Op- Just play if you enjoy it, don't worry about what other americans are up to. Besides even if sub #s are going down in the US it could just be people not having the money to put toward gaming.

Really did you forget to mention that semi-closeish to where the mosque is there is also a porno shop? Lonewarrior Muslims =/= Terrorists I don't even see how you can relate a Muslim mosque to a cultural center of pearl harbor there is 0 relation between that and a center to pearl harbor. And people are calling the OP racist....
Oh..lord...there really are some dopey people on this forum.
To have no idea what your talking about is one thing..to expose us to your ignorance is more punishment then we deserve.
To attempt to enlighten you...here are links to what they want to build
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20788
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/20/eveningnews/main6696724.shtml
for those who don't want to bother to click the links..simply put it's a community center that will entail many things including a mosque.
You obviously do not know history...if you can not understand the pearl harbor reference.
Like Pearl Harbor..Ground Zero is considered hallowed ground by many.
And you don't know me to make that stupid "and I thought the OP was a racist" comment.
I support the building of it..for no other reason that the Iman went through all legal channels to want to build it. The last thing we need in this country is to start making government decisions based on religious affiliation.
Still the onus is on the Iman for not having the foresight to understand the nerve he would hit with his decision. The wound is still fresh for many NYers..many of them are going to act emotionally on this instead of rationally.
As for your porn reference..talk about zero relationship...and no I didn't know it was there..but I guess we all know where you spend your time.

If EQ, Guild Wars, Darkfall Online, Warhammer, Star Trek Online, EVE and runescape are all operational, so will be WoW.

This thread is full of arcane brilliance. A healthy measure of the good ol' "
I am American and i am stupid
". Never gets old.
Oh, and since you guys are talking about inapproapriate things built in your cities. After 9/11, the American Embassy in Slovakia, which is situated in the center of our capital city, on one of the most beautiful squares with historical buildings, has decided to surround itself in pillars rooted 3m deep in the ground and about 1m tall, capable of stopping a tank, AND build a 3 metres tall ugly-ass gray $%^&ing
FENCE
around its entrance too! Not even mentioning the squadron of armed guards in the building who are not subject to Slovak federal laws.
It just blends nicely with the old
Nathional Theatre
building which is
RIGHT NEXT TO IT
.
I wish our government had the balls to tell them to GTFO.
