Am I the only one reacting to "you cannot cap nodes in combat"? I'm pretty sure this is false, but correct me if I'm wrong
Correct. Direct damage interrupts it (i.e. abilities like Blizzard or a melee attack. However, damage over time spells and the like do nothing).

truth is that, like a lot of people say, no one really listens to strategy
explaining strategy to a PuG is like blindfolding 3-legged sheep and telling them to get through a labyrinth
you should really just go with the flow of the crowd if you can't influence them
or get a premade

One mistake I notice frequently in AB is that people are unaware which types of AOE will stop the enemy from capping the flag.
As a mage I know the following types of AOE damage will reset the cap timer if there are multiple enemies trying to grab your flag.
Arcane Explosion - Works
Frost Nova - Works
Flamestrike - Does Not Work
Blizzard - Does Not Work
It happens all the time, where I see (for example) an enemy hunter casting volley on the flag while I'm capping it and I continue to cap completely uninterrupted while getting hit by volley.
If you feel like really getting in depth, you could add a subsection stating which AOE's work (and don't work) for each class in regards to keeping the enemy off the flag.
I didn't list cone of cold because I wasn't 100% sure it works, but I think it does. It would surely benefit alot of the newer players.
flamestrike will interrupt but only the first tick of damage will do it

what i have noticed when i play arathi basin is that alliance always sends most of their people to LM and none of them go to BS. The amount of people that go to gm vary based on the amount that go to LM and stay at ST. After they cap LM they rush farm. After that they go to BS. Idk why but 9/10 times i see them do this.

I find holding the GM is one of the strongest things, me and a friend team up and watch either side of the flag and ask that a rogue stay with us in case we get attacked, then they can swoop on in and hold it whilst we respawn.
Stables are the worst, you can get attacked from every angle and for some stupid reason its the one everyone wants so there's always a fight there, good for getting kills but bad for winning overall.
AB is probably my favourite battleground, great for practicing your PVP skills and pretty easy providing your team mates don't run off on solo missions.
