Nice! thanks for the link, I haven't seen that video yet. Blizz is doing a great job with the ingame cinematics.

its obvious blizzard put alot of work into this, and i LOVED it, the animation was above average for blizzards ingame cinematics, (best being stuff like Lich kings death scene you can see inside Dalaran for example). While it does portray the alliance a bit... Badly, i think thats the point as well, giving new goblin players a reason to choose why they would 'decide' to join the horde, though i would have liked an explanation of what happened to the slave goblins, as said the main character is told he/she/it is now a slave, so where does it match up? Well i know i saw alot of escape pods going off where they freed? Or did they swim useing debree as a floating device? (of course engineering the wood to be 10% more floaty and 50% more likely to explode). A few holes is ok though, all in all i LOVED this cinematic and will probably watch it a few more times XD

Hahahahaha! I loved it! Not only are we seeing how awesome blizzard has made goblins in this, but also where the plot develops at this stage, its a great peice.
And you the best bit. The so called alliance nobility just got flushed down the toilet when the captain said 'it doesn't matter, no witnesses'. Seems the alliance code of conduct matters of sod all now, hawhaw. Clearly they don't care who they bomb now, all the more reason for the goblins to fire there bigass cannon aimmed at sw

I know a certain alliance fanatic zealot (one who's been making over a dozen threads saying HORDE IZ EVILZ, ALLIANCE IS GUD) who won't take this kindly.
xD basically when the captain said "no witnesses" it wound't had mattered if it was an argent crusade vessel, or an earthen ring vessel for that matter, they would had opened fire on ANYONE nearby.
so much for the alliance's "honor"
is funny because prior to this cinematic being revealed, alliance fans argued that the alliance was all noble and goodie-nicey, that they never ambushed the horde, but rather got entangled in a naval battle, that the goblins were simply hit by accident, some even went as far as to say that it was the horde who fired the first shot.
what have we learned so far?
A: Alliance fleet ambushed the horde, and not even on nice terms, 5 ships vs 1? come on >=(
B: Alliance fleet atacked a neutral figure who is trying to save azeroth (and this guy is nice enough to NOT go "drama-queen"mode like varian and still has nobility to help alliance players later on)
C: Alliance deliberatedly atacked the goblin ship even when said ship had done nothing to them, it was pure miracle that no other ship was nearby, can you imagine what could had happened had that ship be an argent crusade ship? or a cenarion enclave ship? or an earthen ring ship? (Technically, the ship they ambushed WAS an earthen ring ship, as thrall had already given up his title of warchief when this happened, and the alliance knew that, as players sent to nagrand MONTHS before the cataclysm saw Thrall casting aside his title to devote to the earthen ring)

Ooo, didn't know they had added that cinematic. Gotta check if the worgen one is in as well...

: Too long since I did the chain but it adds up, believe me.
As for the Alliance being portrayed in a non-noble way: Just wait until you get to the Southern Barrens... (as Horde) :-)

Very cool, and this also help to show that neither the Horde not the Alliance are fully good/evil. We should have already move away from viewing the Alliance as the good guys and the Horde as the bad guys.

A proof that Alliance is
EVIL!
A proof that the Alliance is not all good I would say.

ah thanks mate :) - nice to be told such, i am looking at ask a beta tester just so i dont seem like a total dumbass, but sometimes 1 thread gets to big or to messy to sort out data from and alot of smaller ones are easier to fiddle around with (having a search engine etc.)
to the rest of the "blurgh alliance show their true faces" thing, be you a poster i would sooner throw in a fiery pit than say well to or one i have some way of respect for, this is a cinematic and i'd personally see it as
a: their making it easier for goblin players to story wise feel the horde is the best choice
or
b: its...freaking... war! Of course either side splurts out random comments about honor, respect, give peace a change (soon to be caged) and so on but neither truly embraces such. Its simply to stand out as the good guys, there is no good guys, there is no bad, just alot of oppinions of how the world should be, and sometimes words cant do all the talking, somethings physical actions have to be held. Guh i've gotten so tired of both sides screaming "X IS BAD Y IS LESS BAD GO Y SCREW X WITH A Z" And cataclysm isn't even out yet, dont get me wrong i love the expansion so far in about every aspect (but i have had the same feeling about wrath - which I by the way didn't dislike either a b- to a b+ in my grade book) but really? Is there a true need to discuss whos evil and whos not? Obviously (and i know im discussing it now) there aint no good or bad, some may be a bit different and harder to relate to and thus SEEM evil, but is there really any evil (no tauren i do NOT want your answer, and if that alliance fanboi kid zurisomething is here NO BAD FANBOI BAD! - unless tauren and zuri wanna fight to the death no replies please).
*deep breaths* i guess i wrote a big one there hehe

Well can't speak for anyone else but I'm by no means an alliance hater... I just like how they're showing that the Alliance also has its dark sides (much like the Horde) in Cata. For instance, like I said before, the Southern Barrens zone shows this in a great way IMO...
Due to the pressure of the ongoing conflicts, Varian had to use prisoners from the stockades as soldiers and well... Camp Taurajo is in ruins and they're letting people go in and loot all they want, and there's an internment camp thing going on in the zone as well.¨
Again, not trying to say the Alliance is evil or anything - just that it isn't perfect which is a good thing IMO. (as a Horde player, I think the Horde's similar issues are one of the coolest things storywise in Cata)

The Captain said that they needed to capture the "Horde target" and they also had a cage that negated magical energy inside it (the cage they put Thrall in) so I don't think it was a change encounter between the Alliance fleet and the Horde ship. What was dishonorable was attacking a passing-by ship that wasn't Horde (Gallywix's ship).

This makes we wonder something though? Is there an epic cinematic for worgens too?
There is/will be one when you finally transform into a worgen. Last time I checked, Crowley just yelled something like . :-p

First off we didn't see the beginning of the Horde/Alliance fight, so there is no evidence to claim if it was an ambush or not. The outcome could of easily been from a active manhunt or a chance meeting.
it was an ambush, the alliance fleet didn't just casually met thrall's ship, they had a cage specifically desingned to cut him off from the elements and prevent his escape, plus the captain of the alliance ship specifically said that their mission objective was to capture the horde target.
and last but not least, it's imposible that the horde atacked first due to multiple reasons:
1: it was 1 ship vs a full fleet, nobody is that stupid to start an attack when you are in a tactical disadvantage (well, garrosh is stupid enough to make that mistake, but he wasn't on that ship)
2: it wasn't a frigate, it was a transport vessel, no guns aboard, whereas the alliance fleet had frigates and battlecruisers againt what is basically an unarmed transport vessel.
back when this cutscene wasn't yet revealed (this was back when beta hadn't started either) some alliance fans in this forum argued (some stronger than others) that the alliance was the poor victim here, that they are the white doves, the pure, the joust. And that in the lost isles, the naval battle was because the horde atackd first, and the goblins stood in the way.
now we know better, that the alliance did attacked first, that the horde didn't even fought back (again 1 unarmed transport vessel) and that they fired upon the goblins unprovoked.
Frankly, I'm glad this happened, since blizzard spent the better part of WOTLK exposing every single skeleton in the closet of the horde, (Wrathgate and broken front) I say it's about DAMN TIME that the fake image of "Heroes of Justice" the alliance had was broken.
both sides have their demons, for a LONG time we've seen the demons of the horde, and just now we're seeing the demons of the alliance (hopefully this won't be the last of them)
King's honor my ass.
