I dont want to be forced to be in Elwynn forest..
I dont roleplay heavily while leveling much less erotically.
I already hate having a window I can't close with drivel and porn.
I think I could live without seeing LF femnale to please my corehound ..pst
or seeing two cat form druid emulate realistic cat sex in the middle of the road in pornshire.
Yea Im on an RP server but I didnt see R or XXX rated on these adult content warnings.
Ever since my hunny flew my character to Dalaran as son as she could safely ride tandem? I asked that for all after 40. Dalarn is busy and lags occasionally but not like SW.
Most towns are deserted becuase the questchains near them SUXOR donkey hoo.
i don't mind travel with purpose.
And flying will be available in all realms but still at 20/40/80.
I am already not in love with the new tree mandantory bottom... many of my classes I dont WANT the bottom talent or even most the bottom tier!
They don't fit my play style which means my character will be an awkward fit that I futz things and get my dungeon mates killed over until I am high enough to double spec...wait...that takes time AFTER level 80 and monthly fees better spent on CoH.
Maybe something good is in store... I hope so for my hunny- since he pre purchased it as a longtime member quirk.
I see me looking to STO or CoH as my new source of relaxing fun.
AS a former markter it seems the new change is leaning to pvp and impatient people being kept long enough to buy the game and get locked into at least a year of membership before becoming bored and leaving the mess to the faithful (I'll be on first lifeboat out...lol sorry)
Short term gain (couple years profit) to possible hypothetical long term loss (another game that gains the stable members). Plus gamble that game they move to is also battlenet (no loss)

You are not forced to ever leave Stormwind in this model; where did you get that you have to spend time in Elwynn/Goldshire?
Trade chat is shared between all capital cities, meaning that the supposed sexual chat you saw in Stormwind, you could see in Dalaran as well.
Most cities are deserted currently because it is far more convenient to use Dalaran; the capitals were never meant to be major quest hubs.
In most cases, if you aren't taking the lower tier talents, you're sort of gimping yourself in overall effectiveness.

. Cryptic deserves to be annihilated for what they did to STO - and, frankly, for what they did to CoH.

On Topic, I don't see what everyone is so worked up over. The only reason I even had my hearth set to dal was because it was the logical middle point between the instances/daily zones and Org. I spent all "hanging out" and business time in Org. It sucks that you have to choose between UC and Org as your main middle ground now, however it is only one short zeppelin flight between the two.

Not much of a choice there since Orgrimmar has the portal hub for the new zones and the zep towers are inside the town now as well. (close to the portal hub)

Assuming they add AHs and Trainers to Shatt and Dal the change doesn't really bother me from the point of view of leveling through the 58-78 range. The main reason I would visit the Old World was for Training/AH'ing anyway. What I am actually annoyed about is the inability to easily move between cities for leveling the 1-57 range. There are a depressing number of quest chains that require you to move from one continent to another (frequently between the cities). Currently I set my Heartstone on my alts to Dalaran and can easily move between questing hubs by Hearth->Portal->Fly rather than needing to do Fly->Boat->Fly. If they go through with this I really hope they either reduce the number of "go half way around the world to pickup/dropoff something" quests or drastically speed up the speed of the flightpaths.

CoH got a LOT better after NCSoft bought it out. I agree about STO though, to me it represents a lot of wasted potential.

Please someone enlighten me on the positive aspects of this. It seems that many people are in favor of the change, and I honestly can't see why.
First off, there are no positive aspects if all you are thinking about is convenience. This is - no matter how you look at it - a transportation nerf.
I use Dalaran as a travel hub. It's often much faster to hearth to Dalaran and port to a capital city than it is to take other means of transit...
And what do you travel TO from Dal? Raids and dailies are the only things in Northrend that you can't get anywhere else. Dal is simply the convenient midpoint between your Northrend activities and the AH/Trade Central (Org). In Cata, Org is the midpoint. It has ports to all new questing zones and its a quick zeppelin trip to UC (seeing as the first major raid is in EK).
I suppose what I am trying to say is that your transportation time between points of interest will remain relatively unchanged, perhaps even expedited by the fact that you will now hang out in a city with an AH, bank and zeppelin towers. You can also forget about forcing an artisan to blow his hearth to come to Dal (or you having to go to Org) to get something crafted (and vice versa).

Sorry but did you just say Dalaran is ignored...?
Anyways, I like this. So glad Dalaran won't be the "standing around"-place anymore and it'll be useful to have class trainers while leveling new toons in Outland/Northrend.
Also as a sidenote, there are portal hubs for the new zones in Orgrimmar/SW. (called Stone Circles - you have to get attuned to each portal by questing in its zone)

Maybe I am missing something.. but is this really that big of an issue. It's probably something I would have done anyway (set my hearthstone to Ogrimmar).
If you are questing/repping in Hyjal, did you really want to set your hearth to Dal and then have to run to the portal to Ogrimmar to get to a bank/ah/trainer?
When I quest in Vash, I'll use UC as my hearth.
I just don't see this as a huge issue. It's not like you have to zigzag the continents very often.... While leveling, probably once a day I may have to use a zepplin.
But that still beats hearthing to Dal every time and then making that minor run to the actual portals.
Much ado about nothing.
