Heh, you could have, but then you wouldn't have put up a post for people to respond to. I was honestly expecting someone to link a picture with the "IT'S A TRAP!" headline.

our constitution grants us the right to seek our own happiness..
...
to keep our constitution pure and away from religious dogma, things like this need to happen.
Tell me exactly, where is this religious dogma present in the Constitution (I am assuming you are American)?
And also, who is this "our" you speak of? Is it atheists? They only account for about 14% of the population, whereas Christians account for about 76%
source.
So don't pull the majority thing, because you aren't the majority, and contrary to popular belief, your views aren't more important than religious people.
Note however that the survey is slightly old, but it was the latest I could find.

As long as the transgender person is happy, and as long as they aren't harming or hurting someone (IE Love Thy Neighbour), not a problem.

So I ask (not just to you, but to everyone who would hold this position), why is "cutting oneself" or committing suicide any different? There is this movement to accept people mutilating their body in the quest for sexual fulfillment, yet a continued push away from the other two? How does one reconcile that?

But point is, there is no religious dogma in the Constitution, and we (not meaning Atheists here; I mean people concerned about the future of America as a free nation) aim to keep it that way.
That's why same-sex marriage should not be banned. Likewise for transgender folk. The biggest reason people might have a quarrel with them is due to religious reasons, and not everyone shares those views. It is for exactly that reason that America has no state church, and teachers are forbidden from leading their classes in prayer.
You might be Christian, and that's fine. However, not everyone is. And because our country is founded on the principles of religious freedom and freedom from oppression, we are not allowed to publicly discriminate against people based on race, sex, sexuality, or anything else (except age in the case of children, but that's a special case).
An American citizen is free to hate transgender people, gays, Atheists, Catholics, Muslims, or anyone else he wants in the privacy of his own home. That's why the Boy Scouts of America is still legally allowed to exclude gay and atheist boys from their organization. However, when it comes to public matters and official legislation, the government is Constitutionally forbidden from taking any religion's side, no matter who is in the majority.

To that first part, that's not a valid argument. Just because one argument is wrong doesn't mean you can go ahead and assume the contrary. And to the second part, forbidding a religious practice is very much putting religion "into the Constitution." Either the State and Religion have nothing to do with each other or they don't. You can't have it both ways.

Nor is it be allowed to take atheism's side.
You might be Christian, and that's fine.
On that note, Funden, do Mormon's consider themselves Christians? As it stands, most Christians don't consider them Christians, but I was never sure if it was mutual or not.
