LookOut
- Infernal and Doomguard look exactly the same, wtf? o_O
Quoted myself to correct something: infernal and doomguard DO have different looks now. Either it was a bug, or I just pressed Doomguard twice. But I don't think so, since the pet went for melee the first time and for caster the second time ...

I just ran an ICC 10 earlier, and I noticed that Drain soul hits for crazy numbers (especially if it crits).
I have mostly 264 / 277 gear, and DS was critting for 70k max. On BQL it crit for around 120k >_<
Anybody know if this is intended? Or due to some bug somewhere.
Our mage had a 102k arcane blast crit on Rotface ^_^ We purposely gave him the first bite on BQL, but I had to disable all my add-ons so I'm not sure on his numbers there...
@suavez, incinerate has higher DPET than soul fire. if MC procs during decimation cast incinerate.
Does this mean I should never cast soul fire or that incinerate only has a higher DPET than soul fire if MC procs?
and cry at searing pain hot fix. I wanted to pull some epic numbers, but my add ons were being evil last night ^_^

only ever cast incinerate as demo when MC procs. the sentence you quoted was said with that in mind.

1) So I know that Blizz fixed SP, but does that mean that with the Imp. SP talent, SP can be used as a viable execute spell at >25%
2) Also, how come none of the proposed builds use GoIncin even though Incin is easily your highest damaging spell, especially now that SP has been nerfed. In the current live version, Incin is my hardest hitting spell, followed by Immo, and the Imp and Conflag are roughly even. I understand that GoConflag means more uptime on the Backdraft buff and GoImmo is a given, but doesn't the 5% on GoIncin cause a higher dps increase than GoImp?
3) For demo, is mastery rating actually useful? I know that with the Impending Doom talent I have Meta up between 3 and 4 times. Or would straight haste be more useful?
Lastly, @suavez The whole HoG refreshing immolate mechanic is really meant to work correctly in Cata once you get Fel Flame at 81, which actually increases the duration of Immo by 6 seconds =D

We will not be refreshing immolate with Fel Flame just so we can refresh it "properly" with HoG... That is just dumb.

But you can't refresh immolate with HoG because you're moving. If you're moving at 85 you'll be casting Fel Flame.

Exactly, it's A) for moving fights, and B) there are many occasions were the CD from HoG and Immo running out will simply not match up, especially on target switching fights, so having Fel Flame adds a lot of flexibility to that whole issue. Aside from it being an instant cast and doing decent damage of course. It will definitely be a part of your rotation. As for it being stupid to refresh it with Fel Flame only to "properly refresh it", the way it works right now is that you have roughly .8 seconds to cast your HoG after it comes off CD or immolate will run out, which means you would need to recast it. The added 6 seconds are not really that stupid.

the hiccup comes with the "decent damage" part of your statement. it does very poor damage. and whether it becomes a necessity or not, it's not something we should
want
to be in our rotation.
having an ability to use on the move is a fine thing. demo doesn't need an extra spell.
also, the interaction between HoG and immo is actually more complicated because DoTs don't actually work as described. the duration of immo is 15 seconds. we were told that more haste increases ticks but the duration remains the same which is kinda true but with varying haste levels immo will round up and down to the nearest full tick.
i really feel that immo needs an extra full tick (3 seconds) on it's duration. it actually baffles me as to why they removed that effect from MC since there's a refresh mechanic in there anyway so max duration doesn't have nearly as big an effect as it did in wrath.

so they hotfixed SP and that made destro's potential lower... anyone feel like they hotfixed something else up for destro to compensate. clearly i haven't done enough testing to pull out of RNG but it feels particularly strong right now.
also, seed is still showing slightly more damage than RoF for me as destro right now. (only 144 mastery rating from reforging). i'm not sure if mana is a big enough reason to use RoF...

Mana isn't a reason to do ANYTHING for destro. The entire night, I used Life Tap an average of ONCE per fight... if I even used it at all.

i'm currently advising imp, immolate and conflag in the FAQ
the conflag glyph's effect on backdraft uptime is actually the more important factor than more conflags in fact. it's an incredibly strong glyph for us.
also you're forgetting GoImmo's effect on conflag damage.
there is a working version of simcraft for 4.0 there just isn't a release version yet. if you wanted to run it yourself you'd have to DL the code and compile it yourself. instead of doing that (i have a working knowledge of programming but i'm not about to get stuck into it myself) i'm just keeping up to speed with
this thread
over at EJ which zakalwe is keeping updated with the latest changes to the program.

yeah, the recent beta changes pretty much confirmed it as we're seeing buffs to RoF and nerfs to seed in the same push.

not hotfixed, just changed.
they're attempting to de-emphasise execute phase mechanics but the funny thing is that soul fire is basically pitiful now so they barely need to. for example, early sims put an MCd incinerate as higher DPET so while decimation is running you would still use MC procs.
