Duel Etiquette?

Ok so this is obviously a newb question but is there accepted etiquette in duels? Mainly, is a priest not supposed to use his full arsenal, including shield? In the duels I've been in I've won and lost, so a shield is obviously not a fool proof way to win. Why do some rage at a shield?

there is no etiquette in duels, its mainly for the lulz.
Outside org, when i see frost mages challenging me to a duel, i swap on my glacial set and the titanium frostguard ring and wow i have a whooping 494 frost resist.
Would you call that cheating? people have been raging at me because of that and seriously, its just a video game.
Dueling isn't even considered "serious" i've beaten paladins in uber long duels where i just kite them around and around on my mage, long enough for them to bubble, LoH Debuff timed out, etc...
Use what you have, beat the guy, and congrats, you've won a duel.
Edit: After re-reading OP's post, use your shield if you want, if they lose to you, they're just QQing because you are able to use something that they can't and they find it "cheap"

You should always /flex when you win and /rude when you lose.

Thanks for the info all. Waiting for someone to rage at my warlock for sending a minion at em. Guess some just don't like a challenge.

Typically, in MY OPINION, is comes down to gear. If you badly outgear someone, don't be a jerk.
No one learns anything from a full Wrathful rogue opening with an ambush, vanish, ambushing, prep-vanishing and ambushing again
. It's funny as hell for people watching, but it's also kind of stupid. Then again, if you have equal gear with someone, you're doing both yourself and your opponent a discourtesy when you don't play to the best you can.
I guess shadowdance is overrated.

On my shaman, who only has like 3 pvp things, I go into dal sewers, and duel people. They see my pve gear and think I'm a pve hero. Then I pop fire elemental, 1k ap triumph trinket, wolves, hero, stoneclaw totem bubble, shammy rage, and haste potion.
All while lmfao.
It's the only way I can win cuz my gear is so crappy, and if someone got pissed, I wouldn't care, because if you don't think me popping all of those cooldowns in order to win a DUEL then you're taking this game way too seriously.
Honestly though, picture it, and try not to laugh.
Edit: Also, how come I didn't need a captcha that time? It didn't even appear. Glitch mayhaps?

You should now only be prompted once every five minutes or after five posts, whichever comes first
