I learnt a few basic words in other languages from some games, though not anything more than that really in the language sector. Other than lore I do not really think I learnt that much, with exception to learning quite a bit of history from certain RTS games in the past.

The meaning of life is that constantly performing repetitive actions without any real hope for reward is not only accepted by the general population, but vehemently defended by the same.
That's not a snarky comment. That's my actual life lesson from playing games.
Sometimes I even depress myself.
It's sad because it's true.

There isn't one game I have played that didn't teach me anything (flash games not included).
Banjo Kazooie: giant flying vegetables with eyes are bad.
SSBM: There are games outside America (Marth and Luke?)
Pokemon: Nature.......and more nature........
Any online game in general: People can be jerks.

All the games that played since my childhood taught me more English than year of school (I'm brazilian, so my main language is portuguese).
Also I learned a really big amount of History playing Age of Empires/Mithology.

I know, but yet there are historic comments about almost every soldier, building, technology, animal and tree that is in the game.
