I think it's pretty nifty. I hope to level a hunter before Cata, and I definitely am if they keep this the way it is.
So you're going to level a Hunter for a worthless ability that has absolutely zero PVE merit, ever since they removed the damage bonus from it.
...okay.
If you read, I wanted one anyway. This was just a nice little cookie bonus. I don't know why I added cookie there. Felt right. It stays.

... You get a fun utility skill that looks great...
Isn't that what Enginering is(was) for?
The damage increase was what made the skill ok, now I doubt I will use it often. I seem to recall something in blue posts about them wanting us to use every skill, not just certain ones. Well they should give us better skills.
It's a PvP skill. I'm going to assume you're not using Disengage a whole lot in PvE either? :-p Not sure what you mean with the engineering part but how is that a bad thing? That it's situational you mean? I think it will be used on every CD in PvP at least.
I guess PvP isn't very popular around here, so not much to do besides sitting in a corner with the resto druids who "didn't get a new skill either". Surprised there isn't a thread with rogues complaining about Smoke Bomb...

We're discussing a PvP skill after all... Also what Wildhorn said.

Useless in PvE
Sub-par in PvP
Lovely. It's like Freezing Arrow all over again.
(Freezing Arrow was our "cool" level 80 ability... <--- rofl)
Blizzard should probably try designing an ability that makes hitting
80
85 mean something as a Hunter, like
pretty much every other class has.

Really? I don't see a single class having a level 85 abillity as "cool" as camouflage...
Warlocks have another "trinket" DPS cooldown, rogues (also) get a PvP abillity which actually shares a mechanic with camouflage, priests get leap of faith, (which while cool on paper is as situational as this one) warriors get heroic leap, a pretty-looking charge, (also more PvP oriented with the stun) mages get bloodlust, shammies get a situational "run-n'-gun" cooldown, DKs get spell reflect.
Point being; cheer up and stop trying to victimize the your class, camouflage is a cool skill and no matter what you say, all the other classes classes aren't getting "cooler" skills.

There is always that one Hunter that thinks that we are the weak class.
Camo is a PvP skill.
Next thing. Hunters will be joining the Gank Classes. Rogues and Druids.
How many of us, while leveling or farming, got ganked by that Rogue or Druid? Just think, we can have track hidden and camo up at the same time. That makes playing shadow tag that much more fun.
I think Camo is one of the greatest things Hunters have ever gotten. And I think it plays into the nature of the class. We should be able to do the predator thing. We hunt w/o being seen. And Camo helps bring that nature more to the surface.

It looks pretty cool. Doesnt seem very useful outside of pvping, and even then the hunter can be easily seen and heard. They need to fix the loud footsteps, aint very predatory stomping around the bush, and hide the pet's name too, as it's a dead giveaway.
I wish this would be an earlier spell, looks like a lot of fun to level with, but I doubt that will happen.

I'm still butt-hurt over our 80 ability. It's garbage compared to other classes, no question. That's more what I was referring to.
Edit:

You do realize everything you listed is infinitely more useful then Camouflage, right?
Smoke Bomb is amazing for LoS, Leap of Faith is also incredibly useful, Heroic Leap is a greatly improved Charge (an already powerful ability) Mages get
Bloodlust
, Shaman get to cast while moving (
amazing for any caster
) and DKs get a Spell-Reflect?
You're going to compare that 30 second invisibility that's worse then Stealth on a 2(?) minute cooldown that provides no bonuses to anything except the fact that we don't get seen (And even then, it isn't hard to find us, albeit it does look cool. I like the shimmer) to all those abilities?
Lol.

Can you guys really watch the camo video and think it's trash? Just for the OMG awsome predator factor alone makes it worth it in my book. Hunter's (let alone any other class) hasn't gotten an ability with this much "awe" factor since . . . maybe locks's meta turning them into a mini Illidan.
Everyone's almost in agreement that it's a decent pvp ability. Being "almost" invis and untargettable is almost as good as any opener you're gonna get. It even camo's your pet as well.
I wouldn't call it completely useless for PvE. I use to solo stealth my way through dungeons back in vanilla to farm specific items. The
plans
for the Arcanite Reaper come to mind was something I farmed with my rogue for some quick cash. We'd be able to almost "stealth" our way through dungeons hopefully and do the same things rogues and feral druids can.
It isn't going to make the raid folks happy with it's uses, but perhaps something might change slightly or a new mechanic pops up. It probably won't work on boss fights but perhaps there will be some pre-boss mechanics that shoot some type of aoe at the raid. Camo can allow you to feign out of combat for that pre-boss fight and camo to avoid being targetted.
If they did change it to allow you to use it within combat, there would be lots of new uses PvE and raid wise for this. PP's phase transition being able to pew pew more, LDW's aoe's, Sindy's ice block choice, etc.
But for now we should look forward to it's "awsome" factor and figure out a use for it once they tweak it. I know I won't be the only one to walk in town with this almost perma on when cata hits.

Btw my friend told me " look closer to that and tell me how can u see them?"
I say " yea, I can see them while moving around and I bet they can caught on u for doing that in pvp. So the best way is to stop moving for not let them see u for get caught."
He say " correct and so caution for doing that in pvp :) "

Eh, give Rilgon a break. He's prob been through Blizz' development cycle way too many times and probably can't stand it anymore. He does point out some good end game points of view, some that most of us don't really understand. Lately he's sounding a bit "tired" of the whole hunter thing, and maybe he's got good reason. I say give the guy a break.
The point you made about opener's:
This is an awesome addition to hunter pvp because, if you think about it, in some fights, the person who attacks first, the person who has the opener, has a higher chance to win the battle.
We're gonna not only get tracking but an almost stealth form as well? I'm rerolling a new Worgen hunter come cata back on my old pvp server stomping grounds. This would completely change the way I pvp in any world pvp. This is a huge advantage for pvp servers in so many different ways. NE was the way to go for sneaky stealth ambushes, but now you can do it with any class. It's gonna be amazing.

Dark Simulacrum is both infinitely more "cool" and also significantly more
useful
than Failuflage.
&*!@, I'd much rather even have Leap of Faith. I'd honestly rather just not have a level 85 ability altogether.
