I hope the next time Wowhead has a drawing, they'll just call it a drawing instead of spitting in our faces and calling it rain.

I honestly didn't think that was my best entry by far, but would make myself the stuff of lies to say I'm not thankful for being chosen. I do agree with the posters here looking down on sentence-haiku (though I am aware that my chosen entrance does fall slightly in that category). If there is ever a next time for something like this, I'd suggest a one-poem minimum, or at least a daily minimum.

These were not bad but some are grammitcally wrong and I felt some of mine were better then those
Little Pamela/You are missing your daddy/Here is your dollie
Darrowshire was lost/Redpath became corrupted/By Marduk the Black
Those are 2 of many I entered.

Since other people seem to be doing it, here are some of my haikus I submitted (I don't remember them word for word, but most should be close enough).
Just questing along/A rogue sneaks up from behind/Can't do that while stunned
Volcanoes erupt/Earthquakes shatter continents/A Cataclysm
Crowley can Fist Cleave/But a dwarf punches Deathwing/Who is more epic?
A purple landscape/Magic vortices shimmer/Netherstorm beckons.
Majestic and grand/Clefthooves graze upon the land/Welcome to Nagrand (thought I might have some fun with rhymes).
The city of Dwarves; The forges shimmer with heat/Life in Ironforge
I fall to the ground/A tiny shadow moves past/Slain by a Gnome Rogue
Now that I read them, I realize that they're nothing spectacular. Oh well.
In any case, thanks for the contest, WowHead, it was a fun 2 weeks, and I look forward to frequenting your forums more often =)

I would consider to meet Haiku standard from the content. Instead of simply placing a "/" in a sentence describing nabs doing stupid things.
This. This, so hard. Half of these "Haikus" are just putting slashes between sentences of WoW jokes / puns / stereotypes.
I'm curious if you've actually read any haiku. The "real" stuff, from renowned poets, is often just breaking up a sentence.
Who is that, huddled
In a straw-coat... staring at our
Holiday parade?
Ah my forest hut...
Where the friendly woodpecker
Knocks at door and post
At my hut I fear
All I can really tempt you with...
Smallish mosquitoes
The sadness of it...
Under the hero's helmet,
Tarnished now, a cricket
Moonlight nightingale
Casts a whistling line of sound
Over the millpond
All of these were written by
Matsuo Bashō
. I wonder if you'd say that these are poor examples of haiku because they're just breaking up sentences. And oh noes, none of them even refer to the season. And of course the third one doesn't even conform to 5/7/5, although that may be due to translation difficulties.
Argh.
Basho's a pretty renowned poet, but I have to say, none of his poems really strike a chord. Perhaps they're better in their original language. But in any case, I might just have an absurdly high standard when it comes to poetry.

Silver stars rain down
Like sakura in spring time...
Druid wipes the raid.
Oh, and the bonus one I didn't get to submit last night:
Heavy metal jaw / Claws, spines, and fiery eyes shine / Murlocalypse now.
OMG, why can't I vote for these?
LOVE the druid one ;P
I had 3, forgot the first one. Basically they're all resto druid ones heh :D I'm not very good at haikus o-~
My leaves never fall/Autumn never affects me/I am a Tree Druid!
Hello wintertime/Come to strip me of my leaves/They shall be restored!
