So exactly how many heiku's did people submit?
I submitted at least 20 last night... and i had some really really good ones
I submitted 6-9 haiku or so, I know for a fact that 2 of them had a bad syllable count, so really I only entered in 4-7 that were actually... good...
Edit: I submitted them last week too.

Bah... yeah... I suppose mine shouldn't even be up there...
Maybe the one about Mulgore... but... I never should have
even submitted that one to begin with. meh...
@Nyteshady: Well, thank you for your support.

Fun fact, some of the best haiku are subtle. Just because it doesn't slap you upside the head with a lore figure or wow-meme doesn't mean it isn't WoW-related, it just means you have to use your brain when reading it.

Personally I found yesterday's haikus better. Sure Fusioncon's haiku was smart and nice, however I still haven't seen one as beautiful as Anubee's(yesterday's contestant with the one about dalaran). It was so nice and touching, that it inspired me to make two haikus of my own :)
Jailor of the damned/You languish in damnation/forgotten by all
Muradin wasted/chugging his mug of hard ale/drunk like other dwarfs

Yeah, Fusioncon's haiku is really really great.
Kinda makes me feel bad that I'm in second with a joke haiku, how ever hilarious it may be XD

Don't beat yourself up like that. It's a good poem. People not getting it doesn't make it bad at all.
Thanks. I'm just like that sometimes, heh... I have to do a better job
at being confident.

Haiku winner.

Though I do like freedom of expression,
I simply have to ask
What kind of inane gibberish
Will you submit labeled feedback?
From all the actual poets,
All we hear is complaining on Steam.
Instead of a true haiku,
We get a reused internet meme.
This game is getting old now,
And I've been with it from the start.
Every time I see, Jesse Cox click
It breaks my little heart.
Now it seems like I'll have to sit
And watch e'rything get dumbed down and broken.
Oh well, who cares, another beta gone
And finally the Swizzle has spoken.

whilst I appreciate your opinion on the matter was bongo, traditional haiku is actually written as a single vertical line. The content of said haiku is irrelevant.
It can be funny, not make sense at all or whatever.
Realistically the 5-7-5 syllables is also incorrect because the 17 syllables are really supposed to be 17 on or moras as they are called. While loosely they fit syllables, most agree that a true haiku will be about 14-15 syllables in English
Alas, i think wowhead did this contest very right I think.
They chose to use an english adapted haiku style,
left it as one liners with / in between for easy reading and after all this contest is to enter a world of warcraft beta test, not to get into a Poetry book on haiku
just saying

"Hail Alexstrasza / Mother of all life, shield us / From the coming dark. (NyteShady)"
Voted for this one. My favorite out of ALL the entries I've seen.
"Howling in the hills. / They come, but we are ready. / A distant gunshot. (mirokumotto)"
Reminds me very much of Grizzly Hills, it is my second favorite.
And to everyone whining about syllables because "you pronounce it differently", they take that into consideration, and that's why some of them seem to have syllables that are one more or less.
Man, some of you have ridiculous pronunciations of words too. -_-
