Couldn't that last part be argued as the dumbing-down and now facerolling of Heroics has HURT the player base by not exposing anyone to those raid-like mechanics? Using your own examples, it's possible to destroy Sjonnir
without
even touching his adds. Anomalus I believe still goes immune so you have no choice. Intense Cold can be healed through with a geared healer (although Hodir is no longer relevant content so it's a moot point). Therefore new 80s gearing up are never exposed to mechanics such as "stop DPS on the boss and kill the adds when they appear" because there's no longer a reason to do that, you can just focus on the boss and kill him without worrying about the adds anymore due to everyone vastly overgearing the instance.
That's and extension of my point, actually -- I'm not sure if you're implying my examples are incorrect, or extrapolating to the same conclusion I get (like I said, foggy brain today) -- people don't get this simple foundation because these strategies aren't employed anymore.
Yes Hodir is no longer current, but I wouldn't call it moot -- the point still stands that a mechanic that was previously experienced is employed, therefore you should have a pre-existing understanding of how to deal with it. I tried to sneak in that little "though this is no longer the case" comment, referring to the fact that most of these strategies are moot and completely facerollable now.
I think any instance of "heroic training" I can mentioned could be argued as "wrong" or "inapplicable" at this point, because besides bosses going immune and similar circumstances, yes, of course, these mechanics are all completely facerollable. But thinking back to when I was doing those instances in blues, pre-naxx, I specifically recall killing the adds on Sjonnir during the Lightning Ring, I specifically remember everyone trying their best to jump up and down on Keristrasza (and more often than not people still do this, if nothing else but out of pure habit), so I think it's still a relevant point that this may have been the original intent.

Well, you're always free to run H-HoR with undergeared noobs. :P Not quite the same, since the trash resets, I know.
Isn't it hypocritical to call them "undergeared noobs" given you object to negative "judgements" about your own progression? Furthermore, in the case of H HoR, the LFD system makes it
impossible
for gear to cause wipes.
H HoR is relatively easy compared to most TBC heroics run during the middle of the expansion at the appropriate gear level.
Since LFD wasn't mentioned in the quoted post, and we're talking about deliberately creating a wiping situation, you would manually invite undergeared players and just walk into the instance.
You know you can still do that, right?

I'm confused now. If not standing in the fire is simple, then where is Skill required?
Seriously, you need skill to know not to stand in fire? What happened to common sense?

That's why your last response makes you look like an idiot. Don't bother posting unless you bother to read the thread. There's no point in bumping this thread. It was a discussion that finally ended a few days ago.
Let's leave it that way.
