The troll bought himself a glass of water, looked down it, looked very intently at the barkeep, received another glass - with the liquid substantially more transparent this time - and headed outside, leaning against the doorpost.

Gurka nearly bumped into Ga'Crane before noticing him, then suddenly stopped in her tracks. "We need to talk..." she murmured quietly.

Growing impatient, Morec knocked again and waited for the trio of mages to answer the door.

"Ah know," the troll nodded darkly, ushering her inside and to the nearest vacant table, conveniently obscured from view in the shadows.

Gurka took a seat at the table across from Ga'crane, setting her hands down in front of her. "What happened back there?" she asked, scowling.

"What was supposed to be mah greatest achievement, turned into a disaster," Ga'Crane said grimly. "Da experiment mostly went exactly as Ah 'ad planned - except dat 'e, Carnage, proved to be stronger dan I could 'ave possibly imagined."

"Carnage?" Gurka asked distastefully. "Ga'crane, I won't be kept in the dark any longer. Your secrets could have gotten us killed, or worse. What has been going on?"

"Ah 'ave attempted to contain da excesses of mah anger, jealousy, pride, sloth, gluttony, avarice and lust in a separate entity," Ga'Crane said quietly and apologetically. "Dat Ah would 'old wit'in bounds of my mind. Unfortunately, Ah didn't realize Ah 'ad so much inside me until after it was done. It was too late to reverse da process, so Ah 'astily put up several safeguards in case of an outbreak.
Dey worked, didn't dey? 'e didn't 'urt joo?" he asked anxiously.

"Not yet," Gurka snapped back. "If it caught you by surprise this time, how can I trust that it won't overpower your safeguards next time?" she asked. "Ga'crane, you have to do something about this, and soon. When I met you, you were just a potion doctor, willing to help people. I've watched you progress from one darkness to the next, and I said nothing, because I thought you could control yourself. What do you expect me to do now?"

"This is something that needs to go beyond 'control'," Flamehowl said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "It needs to be purged, completely."

"Dis is what Ah've been tryin' to do all dis time - seek out a way to purge it wit'out killin' myself in da process," Ga'Crane said, looking at his feet.
"Joo are right, of course," he said dully. "Dat was an unforgivable moment of weakness. Ah did not foresee da 'ole Malice situation. Ah am not goin' to mope about it - all Ah can say is dat Ah will take whatever measures necessary to prevent such outcome. Like dis."
He took out two small wrist-mounted crossbows, each loaded with a tranquilizer dart, and handed the weapons to the two.
"Dis is tranquilizin' serum designed wit' me as a target. Three darts will set me into a lethargic dream Ah will not wake up from unless due medical aid is administered. Four will stop my heart for good."
Still looking at his feet, still quietly he finished, "Whatever joo t'ink about me, about what Ah've become, Ah do not seek power for da sake of power itself. Ah still want to 'elp people. If dat failure of mine is a reason enough for joo not to trust me anymore - which is what Ah would probably come to, 'ad our situations been reversed - den Ah will accept dis logical decision. Long as joo tell me outright."

Gurka sighed. "Ga'crane... I trust
you
. I trust you want to do the right thing, but you've been far too reckless. How deep have you gotten yourself? I pray you haven't made any mistakes that are beyond fixing..." she paused. "You have to decide now: Are you going to follow this path you've chosen to its ultimate end? Or will you turn around?"

"No one is turning anywhere, cupcake."
Ga'Crane turned his head sharply, to see Corvus - not even bothering to guise himself as a living, standing tall in his dreadful visage of a lich-knight - swagger inside the inn.
"Joo 'ad to get involved," he sighed.
"Doing my job. Apprentice."

"Magus," Corvus nodded at Flamehowl, then looked at Gurka amusedly - as much as a skull covered tightly by dry black skin can show amusement.
"Should I show you?" he mused. Ga'Crane looked up sharply, displaying something resembling strong emotion for the first time since his arrival into Tanaris.
"Don't even t'ink about it, Raven," he warned the Praetorian.
"Or what? You? Will stop me? That's adorable, really - especially considering your current state, Apprentice."
The lich-knight turned back to Gurka.
"Anyhow, all you need to know, kid, is that I am a proxy of his supreme master and teacher."
"Like Ah ever was asked if Ah want to be 'is apprentice," Ga'Crane grumbled.
"You could've totally said so, but NO, you needed power, eh?" Corvus sneered.
"Not sure Ah do now," the troll buried his face in his hands.
"Too bad, it belongs to our master."

"You don't own Ga'crane," Gurka bit back. "Last I checked, the owning of persons is called slavery, and slavery is illegal in Horde lands. He is free to do as he pleases."

Corvus rummaged through his robes, taking out a rolled up parchment that contained information on Tandred and Nyria and their little problem and giving it to Flamehowl.
"Giving it to you, magus, since, after I'm finished with him, he won't be in much of a state to do anything for some time," he said calmly, then turned to Ga'Crane.
"Frankly, you disgust me. You'd rather give up power to protect your friends if that means you can physically be with them. That is a position of a coward and a weakling."
"What do joo want from me now, bonez?" the troll asked tiredly, rubbing his eyes.
"Simple - since you proved to be such a disappointment to everybody, I'm taking your power from you," Corvus said ominously, taking out what looked like a blade-less sword - a hilt that ended abruptly at the guard - and heading towards the troll.
Ga'Crane's eyes widened and he stood up hastily, kicking the chair over in the process.
"Wait, what?" he asked.
