Location: Darrowshire
"Very well," Malice replied. "Shall we take action, then?"
Character: Taelani
Location: Stratholme
"I suppose beggars cannot be choosers," Taelani chuckled with a weak smile. "It is what it is."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
Ji'jiri was so mentally exhausted, he barely noticed that Kukyla had called him 'Ji.' "It comes with the job," he replied with a tired chuckle. "I didn't ask for this job, but I have to do it. Maybe things will cool down again someday and I can relax for a few minutes," he laughed.
"Not many people," Jade replied. "I imagine you might have the same problem," she added, trying to inject some humor into the situation.

"I'm content in here for now," Taelani replied, taking a deep breath as she thought about the last time she'd gone out. She didn't resent the Forsaken as much any more, at least not these Forsaken, but she still hadn't gotten used to walking around and interacting with walking corpses. "What have you been doing?"
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
"It's not you personally," Ji'jiri answered, resting his head in his hands a moment, before looking up and chuckling quietly. "It's just that every day I work to get you out of here, home. Every day I come in here and I remember what my people did to you, and I have to face that shame. It's hard to relax like that."
"So I suppose we have that in common," Jade chuckled. "For the most part, it's only other wardens that see me like this. It's been a long time since I've worn this garb."

"Don't say that, Russell," Taelani frowned. "I owe you my life at least three times over, by my count," she nodded. "You didn't have to save me, but you did. Words cannot express how grateful I am."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
"I should have stopped him," Ji'jiri replied, angry undertones in his voice. "As chieftain, it was my responsibility to keep my people under control, and now look: You and your friend were raped, she was killed, my people are on the brink of riot, and your people loom like a shadow, ready at any moment to swoop in and extinguish all of us..." he paused, shaking his head and sighing frustratedly. "Everyone is counting on me to do the right thing, and I can't. No matter what I do, people are going to die."
"It's a uniform," Jade explained. "We don't get to wear anything else when we're on duty. The only reason I even have this uniform around is in case the sh*t hits the fan, which I'd say it has."

"You needn't worry for my sake," Taelano consoled. "The Goddess would not put any fate on me that she didn't know I could bear. I don't always understand why thig happen the way they do, but I know that I'm always in good hands: the Goddess' and yours. Despite all the tribulations I've been put through, I'm still alive, and I still praise Elune's name. You have nothing to blame yourself for."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
Ji'jiri tensed up as he felt Kukyla's hands on him. Immediately he realized the atmosphere that had arisen, but he kept quite a moment, hoping it would resolve itself without him having to confront it. Maybe she hadn't even realized she was doing it.
"I'll be alright," he assured the elf. "I can't deny that it's hard, but I can handle it. I just want you to be as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances. I can't pretend to know how you feel, but if I can make you feel any better, I feel obligated to do so, at least until I can get you home."
"It's required for he helmet," Jade answered. "On top of that, it's a traditional mark of honor for wardens. We are the only ones to wear our hair in this manner, so it immediately identifies us in a crowd."

Taelani hesitated for a moment, before finally returning the hug. "No," she answered, smiling, "I suppose there's nothing wrong with that."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade

"You should rest," Ji'jiri suggested, taking a deep breath. "I'll be back later with dinner."
"Only as a last resort," Jase replied. "I can take it down, though," she nodded, pulling out the string that secured her hair, letting it fall about her head. As long as it was, it flowed well past her shoulders. She resecured it in a ponytail that ran down her back, rather than sticking up from her head.

Taelani nodded, sitting down at the table. She briefly thought about how much she would miss Russell when he was gone, but decided not to think about that.
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
Ji'jiri sighed as he exited the tent, running his fingers through his hair. His was getting even more complicated. Was he taking advantage of her traumatized state? He shook his head and made his way back to his own hut.
"It does, but it's tradition. I guarantee it won't be a problem," Jade replied. "How much farther do we have to go?" she asked, looking for identifying land features.

"Are you alright?" Taelani asked, getting to her feet. "I heard a crash."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Darkshore
Ji'jiri sat down on his bed, shaking his head quietly. He had to get her home, as soon as possible. Even if his tribe rioted, he couldn't play this game anymore.
Jade rolled her eyes and looked around. "We're not far," she concluded, clenching her hand unconsciously. "Do you have any plan of action, or should I supply my own?"

More than anything, Taelani wished she could go home. She wished things could go back to the way they had been. But that was impossible now.
"Do you have anything in mind?" she asked. "I don't really know what a dead city like this has to offer."
Character: Ji'jiri, Jade
Location: Shatterspear Village
"You go in and talk to the chieftain," Jade nodded, narrowing her eyes. "I don't care about what. I'll go in while they're distracted and grab Kukyla."

Ji'jiri sighed and got to his feet, running his usual lines through his head. Even if he planned to turn her over to the Alliance, he had to be strategic about it."
Jade silently made her way around the village, looking for the prisoner tent. Hopefully it would be in the same place it was last time.

Khaz frowned. "They're preparing a way in," he called back to Lak'tuk. "Perhaps an entrance committee would be in order."
At his words, two Faceless appeared in flashes of darkness.
