Religious Censoring Debate

What's up with this censoring of South Park episodes containing the islamic prophet Muhammed? And I thought we had liberty of free speech in the West, including Comedy Central (who are transmitting South Park)'s country of registration, the United States of America.
They censor Muhammed when he's being drawn like a regular guy, but they do not censor God being pictured as a purple hippo standing on two legs. Why the islamic religion figure and not the christian? I believe in god. I am a protestant. I didn't take too much offense seeing my god pictured as a hippo, the catholics didn't take too much offense after a certain episode which is entirely mocking the Vatican and the Pope. Both were funny jokes, and I didn't care too much because they were
JOKES
, but as soon as Muhammed appears: CENSORSHIP.
Why shall the muslims be treated better than us? In my opinion, either everything is okay to joke about, or nothing at all.
I understand that Comedy Central is a private corporation, but I just think it is wrong to act like this, where you censor anything offensive to muslims, but nothing offensive to christians and jews is being censored.
Discuss!
EDIT: Correction of the misspellings Deepthought was kind enough to point out.

Hm yes I wonder why members of a religion that specifically forbids the depiction of a certain religious figure in image form would get offended when said religious figure is depicted in image form?
I didn't care too muchnothing offensive to christians and jewsIf you don't care about it then it's not offensive.
P.S. "islami"? Really? The word you are looking for is "Islamic."

Nowadays, it appears to me that "free speech" is rather theoretical but isn't really applied in any of the nations which have got constitutions stating the liberty of free speech.
Comedy Central are of course able to transmit almost anything they'd like without censor, but they don't. They censor this thing, but not that thing. And that is a crime on free speech!
And there is really not a single country that really has Liberty Free Speech, for an example: If there was true liberty of free speech, one would be able to go around and yell racial remarks and offend people in public without any consequences. But that isn't the case, doing the stuff mentioned above is criminal in almost every nation.
religion that specifically forbids the depiction of a certain religious figure in image form You know, neither is one supposed to draw the face of god within christianity.

Meh, it's South Park, one episode out of how many get's censored? And what's funny is that whats censored isn't actually that bad lol. Beyond that.... meh, it's not that big of a deal; it's more or less like how after 9/11 any films/tv shows/whatever that had even the smallest amount of violence in New York and the Trade Towers were either edited out or canceled; thinking of the original trailer for Spider-man, and even the Digimon cartoon got hit with it... TWICE! once in the first season where a pair of huge dragons were destroying an empty city, then later with a gorilla based monster attacking New York(and he wasn't anywhere near the Towers). Surprised that Jackson made King Kong the remake; I mean, the army blowing up the city, how did that get past the censors lol.

That makes absolutely no sense. If the censorship was forced on them by the government, then you would have a point. But, they are censoring themselves. No one would stop them if they broadcast the images uncensored.
I'm done here.
The discussion is regarding their censoring of images offensive to muslims and why they never censor any images offensive to jews, catholics and protestants.

If you follow the argument "Let's not censor, because terrorists might blow us up" you have already lost to terrorism. You're allowing it to work as the terrorists intend and you allow it to affect your actions.
Don't you see? This is a huge victory for Usama!

Realistic thinking is not the same as trolling.
Quickhoof: Good socialistic thinking there, just dump it all on the government...
Beating terrorism requires co-operation on each level of society, even cartoon entertainment. 'Cause it's working out really good as it is today, right? Your citizens fear for their lives just in case they transmit cartoon images of a foreign religion's head figure.

Realistic thinking is not the same as trolling. It's a pity you post didn't contain any realistic thinking then. (also his name is spelled "Osama")
