Hello there asakawa!
I'm thinking of doing my companions guide again, but now on pandaria i noticed you can get pets with the Battle Pet system, i wanted to ask you if there is any way to link those Battle Pets maps that you guys made.
Thank you!
Yes, i know i told you i wasn't going
to abandon... I am very sorry.

Unfortunately we don't have a system in place to link to the full battle pet map system. You could try taking screenshots to show the info you need?

Ok, I am looking to recreate the sliding scale effect that we see in
Tiger Claw Inscription
and
Polished Breastplate of Valor
.
Any ideas? Thanks.

There's no way to get the dynamic control in regular areas of the site OR in a guide so your options are all about just displaying the info in the most effective way you can. To me that sounds like just a table with a value for every 5 levels (or so) would be best. You could maybe do something interesting with progress bars to provide a visually interesting element but that would likely be a lot of work for very little pay off.

Great, thanks for the suggestion!

Hey Asakawa! I'm attempting to write a guide and I have ran into a small problem; I have multiple different toggle bars, but I can only get one to open; what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

You mean these things?
If so then my guess is that you need to ensure that all the IDs are unique to the toggler/div pair in question.
You see...
If they share IDs then the toggler won't know which div to display
example code
\id=1 hidden]You mean these things?\

\id=2 hidden]You see...\

Hehe. It's BBCode but, sadly, one can only be used in sigs by staff.
It uses \ which is available to users in guides I think.

I've seen in the new class guides the use of background images. Can we do that on our guides too?

Is there a way to lookup icon names? I know there's a dropdown for common ones. Trying to hunt through wowhead to find something suitable is giving me a headache, there has to be a better way.
As a specific example, I'm looking for an icon to use as a "Hey, look at me! This part is important!" in a guide I'm trying to write. I thought about using the regular quest icon, but I don't want to confuse people into thinking it's a quest.
I thought there might be a red one, like the auto accept ! that was used in Cata on some mobs. Is there such a thing? It wasn't often used, so it wouldn't be as confusing as the gold/blue ones.
suggestions? Help? I'm new to guide writing :D

There really isn't an easy way to find things like that. In the past I've trawled through WoWWiki icon lists and things but, remember, as a guide writer you always have the option of creating your own image and putting it in there manually.

Hmmm... so, technically, could commandeer one of the quest "!" icons, recolor it, and use the img tag? (Am I allowed do that?)
I rather like the idea of a red ! lol. Plain text colored red just looks blah.
Thanks for the input ^^

Yup, \ tags are free to use (encouraged in fact) in guides. When you're creating your guide there's a section where you can upload guide images, to the site to save you having to host them elsewhere, and when you upload it returns the BBCode to embed the image for you. Be sure to make your image have a transparent background and then add border=0 to the img tags to hide the border and background styling.
