Observing bad DPS

A lot of it might just have to do with laziness or in my case ' why bother'. My main in a moonkin, and if I run random heroics, mostly I just use wrath on bosses and don't bother with procs or eclipse? Why? because the boss is going to die in under 30 seconds anyway. If I sit there and pay attention and do my proper rotation, I may be able to shave 3 seconds off that. Or I can sit there and sip my coffee while pressing my '3' key and still get 2k dps " Oh my God, you have 6k GS and you only did 2k dps"... well yeah, but who cares, the boss died.
While doing a run on my main, I also had an alt shaman I had been working on. So I watched an ellie shaman, and he basically was only casting lightning bolt the whole run. (not good for my learning).. when I asked, him, he basically said the same thing ' who cares, we cleared the place in 15 mins'.

By slacking you waste every group member's time, including your own.

During early ICC I lost Deathbringer's will to a rogue who literally just autoattacked.
Whenever I see a DK performing badly I have the urge to whisper them LOTS of advice (Slower one handers that are not tank, I don't care how much strength it has on it, actually put up diseases, etc.) but it usually just gets me kicked from a group.

Although i understand what you say, i have seen really bad people not wanting any advice, i still can't agree with you when you say that wow is not easy to learn, with the huge information about the game around the internet.
That's just it, the game is tough to learn without outside sources. Blizzard is trying to re-vamp the community site but it really isnt a guide by any means. No talent tree recommendations, no "what stats are best," no real advice on anything except a general overview. I would guess that the better players go to outside websites like wowhead, elitist jerks, wow.joystiq, etc. But for someone who is low on dps, I could be for many reasons. Not knowing can be corrected. Not caring is a lost cause.
