People who take WoW or any other game to seriously

I am sick of people acting self righteous and chastising me. I made this thread to have a question answered. If someone is going to get all mad at me for doing something they think is wrong they could at least answer the question. If you have no intent on answering the question than don't post.
I get it, you people think I am lazy. If I want to be lazy I will choose to be lazy and getting mad at me is not going to cause me to stop it.
It seems that people are getting mad at me for sitting out in the PvP match. Here is why I hate PvP. The person I was talking about is the type of PvPer that will complain and say everyone else sucks, which is what he did. If he is going to say I suck than he can do the job himself and try to win.
Anyone else deal with people who took WoW or any other game to seriously?

I deal with people like you. If you hate pvp, don't pvp. If you want a mount, earn it. It's not something of the game - you are cheating and trying to get something effortless while other people are doing the effort for you. That's called being a !@#$, mate.

I think he was justified. If you join a battleground with the intention of winning, you should at least be willing to throw out an attack or two.

Generally I laugh at people who take the game to seriously. However, in this case, your in the wrong. You not participating is a detriment to your team and your team mate had every right to be put out with you. If you want a PvP mount, get out there and do some PvP, since about all you sitting in a corner does is take the place that a useful team mate could be filling.

I hate PvP. I did Battlegrounds to earn my PvP mounts (back when you needed 90 Tokens each, no 50k measley honor). I didn't really want to be there. I still went in and did everything I could to win each battleground. There is a difference between someone who takes the game too seriously and reams everyone who he feels isn't as good as he is or is following the wrong strategy, and someone who just wants to play a fair game, and not have to deal with people who cheat and feel entitled to mess up other peoples games because it suits them (that would be YOU, btw, in case you missed that). You KNOW that you are cheating, you KNOW that you are being an inconvenience for between 9 and 39 other people- please explain to me where you feel that the other people have no right to complain, but you DO have a right to cheat and be a smuck?

The other day I was PvPing to earn honor for the PvP mounts for the 100 mounts achievement. I hate PvP so I decided to hide out in a corner somewhere and waited till we won or lost. Some guy who spotted me and started yelling at me for not participating. I told him not to take the game so seriously and to leave me alone. He retorts back that I should take it more seriously.

The problems is that he didn't took the game too seriously, it's just that you're a lazy $%^&*!@. It's a total different thing.

Also you are moaning at people for taking the game too seriously, when you yourself are essentially wasting time to get mounts to get an achievement. The irony is delicious.Just because I want an achievement does not mean I am taking the game seriously. Someone who gets mad at someone else in the game just because they want to win is taking the game to seriously.

You are the one getting upset and creating a post on a public forum. I think that it is you that are taking things a bit too seriously.
In reality - the lesson you should learn is that even though it is a game, you still interact with real people. When they see you freeloading, you deserve any crap you get. You need to be a grown up, and accept your licks. Don't go crying to a forum and hope for support.Who ever said I was getting upset? When the player who is yelling at me is yelling at everyone else because they suck than I believe that person does not deserve to win.
Also, if you happened to read the sentence at the bottom of my first post you would see I am asking other people to share their experiences. I am not looking for support. If you find someone in MW2 who takes the game to seriously I was hoping to hear about it.

How about instead of taking social interactions with strangers seriously, you take your own personal enjoyment seriously?
IE- you seem to care a lot about what other people say to you, why not get over that and invest the energy into having more fun in the game?
Pro tip: most people are really stupid, in game and out of game. The sooner you realize this, the better you'll be off.Earning achievement is fun to me. I don't really care what other people say to me I just like seeing their opinions. I don't get angry or anything if they get mad at me or call me names.
The only way I could find the game more fun is if there were more chances to move the plot along. After doing the 50th fetch quest or kill quest, I don't feel like I did much to change Azeroth. If I do a quest I want it so that I feel like I am actually moving the story along and not doing something tedious.

I mind when someone goes sits and AFKs in a corner. If you want that 100mount achievement whats wrong with going and whacking someone with your sword? PvP can be hard when someone knows what to do. Or when your a doomchicken people run away from you. But expect to be yelled at when you are sitting with a thumb near your rear letting the other people do the work for you.

So you are being just as judgmental as he is (he thinks you guys suck, you think he doesn't deserve to win because he thinks you suck).
Sounds like you could use a break from WoW, maybe get some fresh air? Possibly meet some real people? If I wanted to go out and talk to idiots I would play a round of Modern Warfare 2.
