Blame conservatives. Nice. >_>
I like that Wowhead prefers quality over quantity, and I'm glad that the censoring, locking of threads, etc, is present. And as Gorefiend said, this site is primarily a database. I wouldn't change a thing.

someone might point out that my using the creation of a meme to judge whether a website is important might be poor in taste.
Is it. Memes don't come from most internet forums - only 4chan is really a hive for that sort of thing, and it is really 4chan's only purpose other than being a collection of exotic pornographic material.
Also, this forum is pretty damn tame. I got a 2 week ban for making a thread of the Bungie forums for making a thread with a title similar to another thread (apparently they have some taboo about "parody" threads).

I know this is most likely to go over like a lead balloon but I just wanted to point some things out. I also know that numerous people will skip this wall and say, "then don't post here." Well, I am doing this for you- maybe some of you will accept this and you'll get far more interesting threads than, "My Cookie!" Or, even better I suppose you can totally reject it and talk about this. Flame me, discuss this idc. I really don't- no matter what you do I win: you reject it you prove my point, you accept it then what my view of a better Wowhead comes true, you lock it and you prove my point on the moderation of threads, you flame me then you confirmed the flaming bit. Your opinion is your own. Beyond that..... hell with it, I'll feed you; you don't like the fact that you can't troll, cause ^&*! storms, #$%^ people off, create massive flame wars, get threads locked randomly, and all the rest.... just proves that the Wowhead mods actually give a damn about the site, and want to keep all the above crap from happening. I don't touch the official forums, not because like so many who have bans, but because there's nothing there I can't get here. I enjoy this site, I enjoy the forums and for the most part, like the user base. If you don't, too bad, so sad, the Mods can give you a nice vacation and you don't have to come back. Beyond that, meh, so long and thanks for all the fish, and say hi to the Lizard when you see him.

"My Cookie!" "^v>" and "The Ban Game" have changed my life in profound ways. There is nothing of quality at all on the first page of Randomness other than the FIFA, pot, and internet bullying threads. The others ones are just cutesy.
Also, the argument that this site is more a database is pure crap. The quality of forum posts resides with you and your actions. Your argument is like saying, "Here at Ford Motor Company, we sell quality trucks but our cars lack seats because we focus mostly on our trucks." Its not an either or type problem.
My point on the over moderation is the fact that these threads are something out of Victorian England-stuffy and uptight.I agree that some posts could be more constructive/enlightening/etc, and I do think that there could be improvement on
our
part, but I see no fault in the Wowhead staff. Unless you count locking a thread without a comment. The only time I've bared witness to such an event was when a comment was simply unnecessary. Other than that, I think the moderation is not as bad as you make it out to be.
